Multiple coercive measures
On August 6, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Ha Van Khoa - Director of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Tax Department said that according to the debt management process, tax debtors will enforce tax debt collection in many different forms depending on the level of law compliance of those units.
For example, for businesses with tax debts, the first step will be to freeze the account. If they do not have the money in the frozen account, they will move on to coercive measures to collect invoices. If this is not effective, the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Planning and Investment can be asked to revoke the business registration certificate.
"In particular, if a business owner does not comply with the law on budget payment, leading to tax debt, and the tax authority has repeatedly applied coercive measures but cannot recover the debt, it is forced to notify the business owner that he will not be allowed to leave the country.
For example, we will notify them within 10 days to let them know that if they still do not fulfill their tax obligations after the deadline, we will send a notice to the police to take measures to temporarily suspend the business owner's exit from the country. The ultimate goal is to recover tax debts and submit them to the budget according to regulations, not to cause difficulties for businesses," Mr. Khoa explained.
