On the morning of August 5, at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh, the international conference "Searching for Axion Particles" took place with the participation of more than 50 experts, scientists, and graduate students from 19 countries and territories. The conference was organized by the Rencontres du Vietnam and the ICISE Center in collaboration with the Hubert Curien Multidisciplinary Institute (IPHC) - France and the STRONG2020 Project - Europe.

Conference overview.

The event brought together many speakers who are world-leading experts, researchers and scientists in the field: Professor Budker Dmitry, Helmholtz Institute Mainz (HIM), Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) - Germany, University of California Berkeley - USA; Professor Choi Kiwoon, Institute for Basic Science (IBS) - Korea; Professor Semertzidis Yannis, KAIST and IBS-CAPP - Korea; Professor Gori Stefania, University of California Santa Cruz - USA; Professor Goudzovski Evgueni, University of Birmingham - UK; Dr. Suzuki Motoo, Harvard University - USA. Professor Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of the Rencontres du Vietnam Association, spoke at the conference.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Professor Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of the Rencontres du Vietnam, Director of the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), shared: “The International Conference on “Searching for Axions” is a forum connecting theoretical physicists and experimental physicists to sit together to exchange and discuss. I believe that through the exchanges at the conference, we will be able to expand new ideas and research cooperation to search for Axions in the future.”

Nearly 80 researchers attend the International Workshop on “Soft Materials, Fluids and Interfaces”

The conference is a forum for theoretical and experimental physicists from the fields of particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology to present the latest research, experimental results, and ideas about the Axion particle - one of the top mysteries in physics today.

The conference was attended by many of the world's leading scientists.

Through the discussions, scientists can develop new research directions that need to be focused on to solve the mysteries of the universe. This is also an opportunity for young scientists and postgraduates to update the latest knowledge in the field and develop their research skills. With more than 50 reports at the plenary session, the conference focused on discussing recent advances through the main topics: CP symmetry problem in strong interactions and Axion models; Cosmology with Axions; Searching for Axions from galaxies using haloscopes and other antennas; Searching for Axions from the Sun using telescopes and underground detectors; Searching for quasi-Axions using particle accelerators; Searching at low energies for quasi-Axions, the fifth force, and the phenomenon of light through walls. Delegates take souvenir photos at ICISE Center.

In particular, the conference focuses on creating opportunities and encouraging young researchers, doctoral students and post-doctoral students to actively participate in presenting their research directions. From this platform, the students learn, exchange and seek opportunities for scientific cooperation with leading experts in the future. The conference takes place from August 5-9.
