On August 9, in Hanoi, the program to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the National Youth Informatics Competition and the 30th award ceremony in 2024 took place. Attending the program was Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Standing Secretary of the Central Youth Union.

30 years of nurturing IT talent

The National Youth Informatics Contest is a prestigious playground in the field of informatics, organized annually by the Central Youth Union, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Association for Information Technology since 1995.

Over the past 30 years, the contest has not only been an intellectual playground but also a source of inspiration, opening the door to great dreams, nurturing and fueling the aspirations of conquering information technology of many generations of students across the country. Many young contestants have grown up and held important positions in large domestic and foreign units and enterprises.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Standing Secretary of the Central Youth Union - shared that the 30-year summary is an opportunity to look back at the achievements and evaluate, summarize and draw lessons for better implementation in the coming period. From there, research and propose to the Party and State policies and strategies to develop young talents in the field of information technology and participate in supporting the improvement of digital capacity for Vietnamese youth.

In addition, continue to establish innovative solutions in organizing competitions to further promote the movement of learning and applying information technology in localities, improve the quality of youth information technology competitions at all levels, create motivation to lead and encourage a large number of young people to information technology, and create inspiration to light up the dreams of young information technology talents in the country.

11 first prizes of the National Youth Informatics Competition 2024

The program also held the award ceremony for the 2024 National Youth Informatics Competition. This year, a record number of contestants with nearly 120,000 contestants participated in the competition at all levels, more than 1,700 contestants from 56 provinces and cities were selected to participate in the regional round. 181 contestants were selected to compete in the national final round.

In the end, the organizing committee awarded 11 first prizes, 14 second prizes, 29 third prizes and 84 consolation prizes in 7 competition categories.

In addition, the first prize was awarded to Da Nang city, the second prize to Hanoi city and the third prize to Lam Dong.

Within the framework of the program, the Central Youth Union awarded the For the Young Generation medal to 15 individuals and certificates of merit to 30 individuals and 30 groups that have made many contributions to the development of the contest in the past time.
