Tuition fee for ethnic minority and mountainous areas is lowest at 10,000 VND/student/month

This tuition fee applies to public preschool and general education institutions that are not self-sufficient in regular expenses. Accordingly, ethnic minority and mountainous areas have the lowest tuition fee of 10,000 VND/month and the highest of 80,000 VND/month depending on the area.

Tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year of Lao Cai province will be implemented according to Resolution No. 09/2024/NQ-HDND dated July 5, 2024 of the People's Council of Lao Cai province.

Tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year apply to public preschool and general education institutions that are not self-sufficient in regular expenditures in the national education system for the 2024-2025 school year in Lao Cai province. Tuition fees are payable by students studying at public preschool and general education institutions in Lao Cai province, including preschool children and general education students according to Government regulations.

- Rural areas (except for villages in ethnic minority areas according to Decision 612/QD-UBDT in 2021 of the Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee approving the list of extremely disadvantaged villages in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2025): Including Pho Lu town and Son Ha commune in Bao Thang district; Van Hoa commune in Lao Cai city.

- Ethnic minority and mountainous areas (including communes, towns, and wards according to Decision 861/QD-Ttg in 2021 of the Prime Minister approving the list of communes in Region III, Region II, Region I in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2025 and Decision 612/QD-UBDT in 2021 of the Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee approving the list of extremely disadvantaged villages in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2025): Including the remaining wards of Sa Pa town; Region I towns; Region I communes; Region II communes; Region III communes, extremely disadvantaged villages and residential groups.

Students visit and experience local culture at Lao Cai Provincial Museum

In case of online learning, the tuition fee is the same as the above fee.

Vocational and continuing education institutions are allowed to apply tuition fees equivalent to those of public general schools of the same level in the area for students of continuing education programs at junior high and high school levels.

The above tuition fees for primary education are the basis for supporting tuition fees for private primary school students in areas without enough public primary schools and private primary school students who are eligible for tuition exemption and reduction policies according to regulations.
