The new metro line in Hanoi is operating an elevated section with 8 stations. Each stop is a unique location, shown through wall paintings.
According to the Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board (MRB), the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro line is designed not only to serve passenger transport, but also to be a landscape and architectural highlight for the western area of the city. Each elevated station of the metro line is designed with typical images, to introduce and honor local culture. These detailed designs have been approved along with the overall project profile. The Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro line officially went into commercial operation on August 8, serving passengers on the 8.5 km distance from Nhon Station to Cau Giay Station. During the first 15 days, passengers can use the service for free. After that, the ticket price will be applied as follows: VND8,000 for each trip to 1 station, VND12,000 for the entire route, VND24,000 for a day ticket with unlimited trips. People can also buy monthly tickets for 200,000 VND; students get a discount of only 100,000 VND/month. In case of buying monthly tickets in groups, if not in the priority group, the ticket price will be 140,000 VND. Urban railway line No. 3, Nhon - Hanoi station, started construction in 2009. The line has a total length of 12.5 km (8.5 km on the elevated track and 4 km underground). Currently, the line is operating on the elevated section with the starting point at Nhon station, running along National Highway 32, through Cau Dien, along Ho Tung Mau Street, crossing Ring Road 3, Xuan Thuy and stopping at Cau Giay station (in front of Thu Le Park).
