This training session of U.22 Vietnam aims to help coach Kim Sang-sik review and evaluate the abilities of players in the U.21 and U.22 age groups, thereby proactively preparing for the 2026 U.23 Asian qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games.
With this meaning, the training session of the U.22 Vietnam team will only last for 5 days, from August 13 to August 17.

U.22 Vietnam assembles squad
Among the 35 players called up, besides the familiar names who have regularly worn the U23 Vietnam jersey recently such as Khuat Van Khang, Ho Van Cuong, Nguyen Van Truong, Nguyen Hong Phuc, Nguyen Thai Son, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Dinh Bac, Nguyen Quoc Viet, Bui Vi Hao, coach Kim Sang-sik also gave opportunities to many young faces of the U.20 team.
In turn, Nguyen Cong Phuong, Nguyen Gia Bao, Nguyen Bao Long, Quach Quang Huy, Trinh Long Vu, Mai Quoc Tu, Nguyen Manh Hung, Nguyen Quoc Khanh, goalkeeper Cao Van Binh, Pham Dinh Hai will be given the opportunity to show themselves by Mr. Kim.
Regarding the coaching staff, in addition to compatriots such as Choi Won-kwon, Nam Gung-do, Yoon Dong-hun, coach Kim Sang-sik will also have effective support from experienced Vietnamese assistants in youth training such as Dinh Hong Vinh, Phan Nhu Thuat and goalkeeper coach Tran Minh Quang.

List of U.22 Vietnam
According to the plan, after the end of the first training period in 2024, the group of U.20 players will move on to training with U.20 Vietnam to prepare for the 2025 U.20 Asia. The U.22 Vietnam team will continue to have another training period at the end of August 2024.
In this training session, the team will gather with a force mainly of U.21 players to participate in the international U.21 friendly football tournament organized by the Chinese Football Association, taking place from September 2 to September 10 in Changsha city with the participation of the teams: Vietnam, Malaysia, Uzbekistan and host China.
