At the closing ceremony and graduation ceremony of the 2023-2024 academic year of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, on the afternoon of August 2, Professor Le Ngoc Thanh congratulated 52 new masters and 376 new medical doctors, pharmacists, dentists and new bachelors in the fields of Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, and Nursing.

Among them are 11 new masters of surgery and 49 new bachelors of nursing in the first course.

According to Professor Thanh, the graduation rate of this batch reached 100% and the number of good and excellent graduates of the school increased dramatically, including 135 excellent students (accounting for 36%), 236 good students (accounting for 62.7%) and 5 average students (accounting for 1.3%).

In this event, Professor Thanh advised his students that if they want to become good doctors, respected by society and colleagues, they need to pay attention to 6 criteria.

“First, be honest in the process of practicing. This is a consistent criterion because when we are good people, of course we will do well in our profession. Second, constantly learn, work hard - practice hard to become talented. Third, always be aware of good medical ethics in practicing medicine and pharmacy, with colleagues and patients. Fourth, improve foreign languages ​​and practice information technology to integrate into the flat world era, the 4.0 technology era. Fifth, exercise, enjoy sports and music. Because we have good health, we can study and work well, coming to sports and music, our souls are relaxed and refreshed, from which we will work effectively. Sixth, we need to be responsible to the community and actively participate in social work,” said Professor Thanh.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Deputy Minister of Health, congratulated the new masters, doctors, pharmacists and bachelors who completed the course and were awarded their diplomas today.

"To become a good doctor, you must study for life. I hope you will continue to make efforts to study and conduct scientific research to contribute to the development and glory of the medical sector," Deputy Minister Thuc advised.

After 4 years of establishment from Faculty to School, University of Medicine and Pharmacy has increasingly increased the scale of undergraduate and postgraduate enrollment. In the past 3 years, from 4 postgraduate training majors, the school has had 12 master's majors, 13 residency majors and most recently 2 Specialist 1 programs.

Professor Thanh said that the school is urgently implementing the project of University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Linh Duong campus, University Medical Center at D2 Xuan Thuy to expand the practice facilities, scientific research, and serve the community.

The school is also completing documents to submit for appraisal of specialized training programs managed by the Ministry of Health, master's and doctoral training programs, etc.
