At the graduation ceremony for the 2023-2024 academic year of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Vietnam National University, Hanoi , on the afternoon of August 2nd, Professor Le Ngoc Thanh congratulated 52 new master's graduates, along with 376 new doctors of medicine, pharmacists, dentists, and bachelor's graduates in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, and Nursing.
Among them are 11 new master's graduates in surgery and 49 new bachelor's graduates in nursing from the first cohort.

According to Professor Thanh, the graduation rate for this cohort reached 100%, and the number of students graduating with good and excellent grades increased significantly, including 135 students with excellent grades (36%), 236 students with good grades (62.7%), and 5 students with average grades (1.3%).
During this event, Professor Thanh advised his students that if they wished to become excellent doctors, respected by society and their colleagues, they should pay attention to six criteria.
“First, honesty in the practice of the profession. This is a guiding principle because when we are good people, we will naturally do our jobs well. Second, continuous learning and hard work lead to excellence. Third, always be conscious of upholding medical ethics in the practice of medicine and pharmacy, towards colleagues and patients. Fourth, cultivate foreign language skills and practice information technology to integrate with the flat world era, the age of Industry 4.0. Fifth, maintain physical fitness, enjoy sports and music . Because we need good health to study and work well; engaging in sports and music brings peace and refreshment to the mind, which in turn leads to more effective work. Sixth, we need to be responsible to the community and actively participate in social work,” Professor Thanh said.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Deputy Minister of Health, congratulated the new masters, doctors, pharmacists, and bachelors who had completed their courses and received their diplomas today.
"To become a good doctor, one must learn throughout life. I hope you will continue to strive in your studies and scientific research to contribute to the development and glory of the healthcare sector," Deputy Minister Thuc urged.
Four years after its establishment from a Faculty to a University, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy has increasingly expanded its undergraduate and postgraduate enrollment. In the last three years, from 4 postgraduate training programs, the university has expanded to 12 master's programs, 13 residency programs, and most recently, 2 Specialist Level 1 programs.
Professor Thanh stated that the university is urgently implementing the project for the Linh Duong campus of the University Medical Center and the University Medical Center at building D2 Xuan Thuy, aiming to expand its facilities for practice, scientific research, and community service.
The school is also finalizing the documentation for the accreditation of specialized training programs under the Ministry of Health, as well as master's and doctoral programs, etc.
