The "Famous Brand - Competitive Brand" certification program was first organized in 2006 to support Vietnamese enterprises in building intellectual property assets. The program evaluates, recognizes, and promotes enterprises with a long history of development, outstanding quality, high competitiveness, environmental friendliness, and consumer trust.

A brand certified as a famous brand in Vietnam must meet the evaluation criteria according to Article 75 of the 2005 Law on Intellectual Property. The legal entity owning the brand must also demonstrate competitiveness, effective product and service quality management, and active participation in social activities.
