(Dan Tri) - After winning the 2024 Paris Olympics gold medal, tennis player Novak Djokovic decided to donate more than 200,000 USD to charity.
Novak Djokovic has received a bonus after winning the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. According to Serbian media, the 37-year-old tennis player decided to donate more than $200,000 to charity. The Serbian star defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the men's singles tennis final at the 2024 Paris Olympics on August 4, thereby completing the only title missing from his prestigious collection.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) does not award cash prizes to medalists, but some countries still offer their own bonuses. According to Forbes, at least 33 countries offer cash for medals. Among them, Serbia awarded all gold medalists $218,000. On August 6, Novak Djokovic visited the Paris Olympic Village to congratulate and encourage Serbian athletes who were practicing. Sharing with his Serbian compatriots, Djokovic said: "I want this to be a moment of motivation for you. I will never forget how you supported me. If I fail, I will continue to fight in the following tournaments. I am 37 years old, but I have only played in the Olympic final once after 5 times participating in the tournament. So believe that nothing is impossible. Be the best version of yourself. If you work hard every day, the strength you receive will be exponential over the weeks, months and years. I always believe that we have no limits, so at least try to see that limit." To fully focus on the 2024 Olympic campaign, Djokovic did not stay in the same Olympic village as the Serbian athletes. In addition to Djokovic's men's singles tennis gold medal, Serbia also won a gold medal in shooting in the 10m mixed pistol event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
