Yesterday afternoon, July 31, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City held a ceremony to commend and reward students and teachers who achieved high results in the regional and international Olympic competitions in 2024.

In the 2023-2024 school year, Hai Phong has achieved many achievements in training and fostering international excellent students, and is one of the few localities with 4 students participating in 4 teams (math, physics, biology, informatics) and winning 5 medals.

Accordingly, Nguyen Sy Hieu was awarded 500 million VND for the gold medal at the International Biology Olympiad; Nguyen Thanh Duy was awarded 400 million VND for the silver medal at the International Physics Olympiad and 100 million VND for the bronze medal at the Asian Physics Olympiad; Pham Tran Minh Duc was awarded 300 million VND for the bronze medal at the International Mathematics Olympiad; Nguyen Tung Lam was awarded 200 million VND for the silver medal at the Asian Informatics Olympiad.

Hai Phong City People's Committee also commended the teachers who directly taught; the teaching staff and the Board of Directors of Tran Phu High School for the Gifted whose students won prizes in regional and international Olympic competitions.

The total amount of money the city awarded to officials, teachers and students who achieved achievements in the Olympic competitions was more than 2.7 billion VND.

Mr. Le Tien Chau, Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, praised and acknowledged the achievements of the staff, teachers and students of Tran Phu High School for the Gifted in the regional and international Olympic competitions in 2024, as well as the marks in training and fostering excellent students.

The Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee affirmed that to achieve these results, the Board of Directors of Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, the team of teachers directly teaching, and the collective of teachers participating in teaching students during the exams have actively "sowed the seeds", not afraid of difficulties, arranged work and time to wholeheartedly care for, foster knowledge, and inspire students.

Along with that, parents always care, look after and accompany candidates throughout the learning process. In particular, students have constantly made efforts, determined, diligently and enthusiastically studied.

Mr. Le Tien Chau also hopes that, in addition to improving knowledge, educational managers, parents and students need to focus on comprehensive development, taking good care of the physical and mental health of the young generation; teachers should always maintain their enthusiasm and stick with the career of "growing people". Mr. Chau also requested that professional agencies of Hai Phong City soon research and develop a project on attracting and nurturing talents, contributing to continuing the long history of Hai Phong's educational achievements.
