The deal for Man City to transfer striker Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid was finalized on August 6. The final fee agreed between the two parties totaled 95 million euros, including a 75 million euro fixed fee and 20 million euros in other additional fees, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, a transfer information expert.

This is a huge profit for Man City, when the English team recruited this 24-year-old Argentine star 2 seasons ago for only about 15 million euros. This deal, after Man City and Atletico Madrid finalized the transfer fee, encountered problems, because PSG stepped in and made a "huge" offer to Julian Alvarez with a net salary of up to 10 million euros.

Atletico Madrid must increase their personal offers for Julian Alvarez in terms of salary and a difference of 2 to 3 million euros to the parties with the player's representatives, to officially complete the deal, Fabrizio Romano said.

Julian Alvarez signed a five-year contract with Atletico Madrid on August 7 and officially moved to La Liga to compete from the 2024-2025 season, after two seasons winning most of the major titles with Man City.

Meanwhile, despite financial difficulties, Barcelona spent a lot of money to own striker Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig for a fee of up to 62 million euros (55 million euros is a fixed fee and 7 million euros in other additional fees).

Dani Olmo, 26, is a star who grew up in the Catalan team's La Masia academy. After playing for Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia) and RB Leipzig (Germany), especially after winning EURO 2024 with the Spanish team, this star decided to return to Barcelona where he came from to become a professional player. Dani Olmo signed a contract with Barcelona until June 2030, with a medical examination and a presentation ceremony scheduled for August 7.

In other transfers, veteran striker Di Maria will stay at Benfica until June 2025. Argentina's reserve goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli will leave Ajax for Olympique Marseille for a fee of 3 million euros.
