Increase 700 passenger cars to the provinces

Mr. Pham Manh Hung, Director of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company, said that this year's National Day holiday on September 2nd will be 4 consecutive days off (from August 31st to September 3rd).

This is a holiday that lasts for many days and takes place before the opening day of the new school year for students, leading to an increase in people's travel and entertainment needs.

It is expected that the number of passengers and vehicles during the September 2 holiday will increase from the afternoon of August 30 to August 31, and decrease to normal levels on September 1 and 2. The number of passengers will increase again from the afternoon of September 3 and the morning of September 4.

Specifically, at Giap Bat Bus Station, the highest number of passengers during peak days is about 20,000 passengers/day, an increase of 350% compared to normal days. The number of buses is expected to be from 850-900 buses/day. The increase in passengers is mainly concentrated on routes to Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa...

Gia Lam bus station has the highest number of passengers of about 5,000 passengers/day, an increase of about 250% compared to normal days; the expected number of buses is 400 buses/day, mainly focusing on routes such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang...

My Dinh bus station has about 22,000 passengers per day on peak days, an increase of more than 350% compared to normal days; the number of vehicles is expected to be more than 950 vehicles per day, mainly concentrated on routes to provinces and cities such as Hoa Binh, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Son La, Lai Chau, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang,...

During the annual National Day holidays, peak times often see a spike in both passenger and vehicle numbers. Therefore, additional vehicles from transport units will be mobilized when necessary, and for routes with excessive passenger numbers, vehicles from other routes will be mobilized.

In case the number of vehicles still cannot meet the travel needs of passengers, Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company will mobilize spare vehicles that were rented before the holiday to increase the number of vehicles on the route to serve the people.

The total number of additional vehicles is expected to be about 700. Of which, Giap Bat Bus Station will have 220 vehicles, Gia Lam Bus Station will have 80 vehicles and My Dinh Bus Station will have 400 vehicles. The number of additional vehicles will be allocated by day and by route depending on the increase in passenger volume.

Absolutely do not let unsafe vehicles leave the station.

To best meet the travel needs of the people, Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company closely coordinates with the authorities, strengthens inspection, supervision, tightens discipline in implementing transportation regulations and rules and ensures the quality of passenger service of transportation units.

Notably, the leaders of bus stations in Hanoi affirmed that they will resolutely not allow departure of passenger buses that do not meet standards, are of poor quality, are overloaded, or have goods mixed with passengers; and will fully record and stamp the transport unit's transport order.

Bus stations will control each vehicle to prevent passengers from boarding without tickets, drivers from competing for passengers, forcing passengers, or charging more than the prescribed fare; promptly detect and handle cases where vehicles or drivers do not have complete or valid documents; and strictly prohibit acts of extortion, harassment, or obstruction that affect the progress of vehicles departing from the station.

At the same time, Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company closely coordinates with the police forces of wards and districts to develop a plan to coordinate to ensure security and order at the station, inspect and prevent the transportation of explosives, flammable substances, prohibited goods, counterfeit goods, and eradicate social evils such as gambling, "touting", "pimping passengers"...; coordinate with the Traffic Inspectorate to handle vehicles that circle around, stop and pick up passengers illegally in front of the exit and entrance of the bus station, causing disorder and traffic congestion...

As for Giap Bat Bus Station, the leaders of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company requested to proactively develop detailed operating scenarios; closely coordinate with functional forces to clear traffic congestion in the bus station area to reduce the impact of fencing Kim Dong Street to serve the construction of the Kim Dong - Giai Phong intersection underpass project because the risk of traffic congestion will increase, greatly affecting the operation of the bus station.
