Not satisfied with the existing conditions and achievements, Ha Nam province is still nurturing many big ideas to change the urban appearance, gradually upgrading Ha Nam, becoming a regional and world-class spiritual and cultural destination. Mr. Truong Quoc Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province shared about this goal.

Attracting "dedicated and visionary" investors to upgrade tourism

- In recent times, Ha Nam has achieved many impressive achievements in tourism. In your opinion, what is the greatest strength that makes Ha Nam attractive to tourists?

Ha Nam is a land of outstanding people with a rich cultural and historical history, where there are many places associated with famous cultural figures, and also owns many famous spiritual tourist destinations and unique landscapes such as: Tam Chuc Pagoda, Long Doi Son Pagoda, Tran Thuong Temple, Dia Tang Phi Lai Tu, Bau Pagoda ...

In particular, in 2023, Ha Nam was honored by the World Travel Awards as the “World’s Leading Local Cultural Destination”. However, Ha Nam tourism still has some limitations such as: tourism products are not diverse, tourism infrastructure is still quite modest, traffic connections are not synchronized... These limitations make Ha Nam tourism unable to attract a large number of foreign tourists.

In the coming time, with the simultaneous implementation of many new projects on infrastructure, transportation, large-scale urban projects combined with entertainment areas, theme parks, especially the participation of large tourism enterprises such as Sun Group, Ha Nam tourism will certainly have many breakthroughs, attracting many domestic and international tourists.

- To turn Ha Nam into a regional and world-class destination, not just a spiritual and cultural destination, what strategies does the locality have in the short and long term?

With the expectation that Ha Nam will change its urban appearance, gradually becoming a regional and world-class destination, planning is our top priority. Only with a good plan can there be good projects, and only with good projects can we choose good investors.

The second thing is that we promote investment in infrastructure, connecting traffic between tourist areas with national traffic infrastructure, creating conditions for tourists to travel safely and conveniently to destinations in the province.

Third, we are interested in and invite investors with heart and vision to join hands in creating high-class, quality tourism products, while closely connecting tourism products and destinations together.

We identify one of the most important tasks as how to create attractive tourism products and services so that visitors not only come to Ha Nam in the spring, but all four seasons of the year. Only then can Ha Nam tourism develop sustainably.

Making Ha Nam a land worth visiting and worth living

- So how will Ha Nam welcome and facilitate investors, sir?

Recently, we have invited large investors to Ha Nam, including large corporations with the strength to develop large-scale and classy tourism projects such as Sun Group and Flamingo... In Phu Ly City, a large-scale mega-project is currently being implemented, which is Sun Urban City with a scale of up to 420 hectares, with a total investment of 35,000 billion VND. The project promises to bring a new look to Phu Ly City with multiple objectives: building a civilized and modern urban area, bringing a multi-utility life to the people; changing the economic structure of Ha Nam province, shifting from agriculture to industry and service economy.

We also expect this urban area, with the integration of many parks such as Sun World park, sports park, festival park, cultural park, ecological park, etc., will bring Ha Nam a modern urban area, in harmony between modern elements and nature.

I hope that Sun Urban City will be a project that will “change the face” of Phu Ly City, and at the same time create motivation for Ha Nam to gradually rise to become a land worth visiting and living in the whole country.

- With so many passionate ideas, how do you envision Ha Nam in the next 5 years?

With a systematic planning and the support of large investors with heart, vision, financial capacity and experience, I believe that in just a short time, Ha Nam will have a spectacular change. The urban appearance will also change completely, with urban areas planned synchronously, fully equipped, gradually turning Phu Ly, Ha Nam into a livable city.

We expect to welcome 10 million visitors by 2030 and Ha Nam will truly become a destination that domestic and international tourists cannot miss when coming to Vietnam.
