For the audience, the past year may have been a lackluster time for the Vietnam Idol champion. But for the 23-year-old singer, it was clearly an unforgettable moment. Ha An Huy named his new EP after a character that has ups and downs, and he called the lowest point in it 2024.

“I feel unworthy”

During the launch of his first EP, Ha An Huy still proudly mentioned his title as Vietnam Idol champion. However, somewhere, the pain was still mixed in the male artist's words.

When explaining the name of his debut EP, he confided: “For the audience, I really want to repay them as soon as possible. In 2024, I completely declined. I feel that I am not really worthy of the champion title, and need to try harder. Currently, I have the trophy in my hand, but perhaps, I do not have the champion's temperament yet."

Regarding the reason he fell into crisis, Ha An Huy revealed that having too many choices made it difficult for him to shape his own musical path.

“I can sing, compose, play guitar and piano, and am even passionate about modeling, photography, and filming. I can do a lot of things, but I still don’t know what I’m passionate about. Last year, I worried too much and didn’t have enough determination,” Ha An Huy confided.

When asked if he had found the right music for himself, Ha An Huy said that this EP is the color he is aiming for. “ Anhuyungdung is the color that I hope the audience feels when mentioning Ha An Huy. It is still emotional, still poignant, but the melody will be more cheerful, no longer too sad. A new Ha An Huy compared to a year ago,” he confidently affirmed.

The male artist also added that he could completely continue to write hit songs like Fall . However, at the present time, Ha An Huy no longer wants to make sad songs like that.

Feel outdated but don't worry

2024, besides the journey to find the right path, Ha An Huy also has new experiences for himself, which here is participating in the dating show Paradise Island . When asked about participating in the program because of his lack of success in music last year, the male artist denied it.

“I didn’t care about gains and losses when I came to Paradise Island , and even accepted slowing down in music. At that time, I felt like I needed more experiences and relationships, that’s all,” the artist shared.

Although he mainly works in tea rooms and often collaborates with veteran names, Ha An Huy is still essentially a Gen Z artist. He cannot avoid being compared to names of the same generation who are prominent in the market. The artist himself also agrees with the opinion that his music seems out of date.

Ha An Huy said: “Anyone who listens to my music can easily recognize that it is music from the past or the future, not the present. I am trying to make my music easier to listen to.”

However, the male artist said he was not upset about that. “Some people take 10, 20 years to find the right color for themselves. For me, it was only a year late, and at least in the past year, I was still working underground, still running shows. For now, I am happy to still have a stable name in showbiz. Not having to start over from scratch is very good,” he added.
