He also said that users will be able to “overlay” Gemini onto apps they are using to ask questions about what is being displayed on the screen. According to Google, this feature will be available on hundreds of smartphone models from dozens of different device manufacturers.

Google has built some AI features into Android devices in the past, but this is the first year the company has focused on emphasizing AI capabilities powered by large language models on devices.

Also at this event, Google introduced the latest Pixel 9 smartphone series. Not only upgrading the design and configuration, the company also upgraded the number of variants when launching up to 3 Pro options for users to choose from.

Pixel 9 series and Pixel Watch

The Google Pixel 9 will be available on August 22nd starting at $799, up $100 from last year's version. The Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL will start at $999 and $1,099, respectively, with the Pixel 9 Pro XL going on sale on September 22nd and the 9 Pro coming in September.

Meanwhile, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold foldable smartphone will go on sale on September 4 with a starting price of $1,799.

Google also announced the Pixel Watch 3. It comes in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, with larger displays than previous models. New features include a running workout plan, recovery insights with cardiovascular load and readiness data, and AI-powered workout recommendations.

Google also says the Pixel Watch 3 is more deeply integrated into its ecosystem, allowing access to feeds from Nest cameras and doorbells, Google TV remotes, and offline Google Maps. The Watch 3 has a battery life of up to 24 hours, or 36 hours in Battery Saver mode.
