One of the outstanding models is a series of exchange programs with martyr families Dang Thuy Trâm and Nguyễn Văn Thạc coordinated by Kim Đồng Publishing House, Vietnam Women's Publication House project Sách nhà mình and some schools in the region. City of HanoiThe program "Forever Springtime - Vietnam War Diary" reflects a historical period full of marks in the form of new, vibrant and interactive organization, helping students to feel deeply about the beauty of ideals and great sacrifices made by many generations of Vietnamese during the war.
Today's programs are often designed in three main parts, such as: Gen Z perspectives on historical contexts and characters; stories of love and ideals; continuing the story of peace. education Traditionally, history lessons have been lived experiences rather than theoretical lectures.
Accordingly, the students are embodied in characters with important contexts, such as: Preparing for a trip to the battlefield, writing letters to relatives, facing bombardment or sharing personal feelings about life ideals and human spirit.
Editor Huang Li (Kim Dong Publishing) commented: The scene helps young people to understand more deeply about the historical events and most importantly feel some of the mood, thoughts and living ideals of the characters, thereby forming empathy and connection with themselves. For example, when students re-enact the scene of Dr. Dang Thuy Trâm preparing to go into battle, they are very emotional, further understanding that ideals are not distant concepts but familiar, close but powerful emotions.
Nowadays, many publishers are maintaining a form of storytelling contest, interacting with literary works. Groups of students tell stories based on diaries, letters and historical documents revolving around characters. Such competitions contribute to the training of presentation skills, thinking, giving younger generations more opportunities to exchange, share and understand history through their own emotions. In addition, some schools promote creativity by opening letter writing contests for historical figures.
Recently, students of Vinschool Times City High School joined together to write letters to the martyrs who sacrificed for their country, expressing emotions, questions and reflecting on ideals, love and sacrifice.
Dr. Nguyen Su Anh said, "Such interactive activities help students understand real people and real emotions". This is a very effective traditional way of education because it touches the younger generation's feelings, personality and thinking. music In recent events, members of the family of martyr Dang Thuy Tram, Nguyen Van Thao have participated enthusiastically, bringing emotional side stories.
During the exchange with students in Hanoi organized by Kim Đồng Publishing House, Ms. Đặng Kim Trâm - sister of the martyr, Dr. Đặng Thùy Trâm brought the work Đặng Thuy Trâm and the third diary? ? The book opened up the whole memory sky, so that she could tell the students about her sister whom she always called with two affectionate characters "Smiley Thuy".
The stories of Thùy's childhood in the small house in Hanoi during the early years of peace, about a gentle smile that contained all the love of life silenced the entire hall. Many students heard such everyday details for the first time. More unexpectedly, at the end of the exchange, Ms. Kim Trâm invited family members to sing familiar songs about fallen soldiers, evoking the image of the heroes.
Vũ Thùy Dương, representative of the "Our Home Books" project shared that one of the biggest advantages is students' enthusiasm, creativity and active participation. When embodied in situations, writing letters or telling stories, children discover empathy, self-discovery and learn lessons about living ideals, courage and love. Besides, close collaboration with publishers and authors' families, prototypes are also a great advantage.
However, the process is not without its challenges. Activities or storytelling exercises require staging, props, sound, lighting and rehearsal time. Ensuring students understand authentic roles, scripts and performances is a challenge. Therefore, consideration should be given to historical situations that are reproduced both realistically and age-appropriately, avoiding obsessiveness or emotional overload.
In addition, in terms of instructional and interactive skills, not every teacher or presenter is accustomed to guiding students through creative forms, direct interaction so it requires careful training, providing detailed scripts and instructions on how to stimulate the student's participation without imposing.
