Need the attention of business leaders
According to Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation (HLF), Pham Quang Thanh, in recent times, the model of workers' cultural activity points (SHVHCN) has promoted practicality and effectiveness, meeting the needs of improving the cultural and spiritual life of union members, contributing to regenerating labor, improving productivity, work efficiency, and developing agencies, units, and enterprises. In addition to the achieved results, there are still some shortcomings and limitations, in which, although SHVHCN points have attracted the participation of workers and laborers, the number of participants at some points is not large and not regular.
The activities of some SHVHCN points are not rich and diverse, and have not attracted a large number of workers to participate. Some points have managers but they are inexperienced, which affects the quality of activities. Although SHVHCN points have been supported, the investment capital is not much; the facilities have not met the requirements of workers, and the area for SHVHCN points in many places is still narrow.
The strong development of digital technology makes it easy for workers and laborers to access many sources of information. Along with that, the cultural diversity from investors, foreign workers, and workers from different regions across the country also creates a diverse picture of the cultural and spiritual life of workers and laborers in the city - especially in industrial parks...
This reality requires a timely and long-term solution. Therefore, in order for the SHVHCN point to become an effective model in building and improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers, it is necessary to continue to build and improve the quality of activities.
The Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation said that it is necessary to have close leadership and direction from Party committees and authorities at all levels and coordination from sectors and members of socio-political organizations. At the same time, it is necessary to closely follow the policies, resolutions and programs of all levels and sectors in implementing the organization; there is regular supervision and inspection in implementation. Along with that, identifying the SHVHCN point as the core to build a grassroots cultural life among workers and laborers in the capital, contributing to building elegant and civilized Hanoians. Promote activities to direct and organize the building of a cultural life for workers in industrial parks and export processing zones.
From practice, Vice President of the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones Trade Union Ngo Thi Lien said that in order to continue to nurture and improve the spiritual life of workers and laborers in the coming time, first of all, there must be the attention of business leaders. But the current challenge is that not all businesses are interested.
Currently, some large Japanese and Korean enterprises have paid attention to coordinating with the company's trade union to organize cultural and sports activities for workers, but small units need more attention from business leaders as well as trade unions. Along with that, meeting the cultural needs of workers is only partially possible, because some companies do not reserve land for common cultural activity areas, so it is very difficult to implement cultural, artistic and sports activities.
C. Strengthening the activities of cultural institutions for workers
From the perspective of a union worker, Chairman of the Union of SWCC SHOWA Vietnam Co., Ltd. Nguyen Minh Son shared that after a period of contact and recruitment, the workers in the capital are quite good in terms of awareness, consciousness, and knowledge compared to workers from other provinces who have just joined the company. Most of the workers in the capital strictly follow labor discipline, know how to value working time as well as comply with the company's regulations; there are no violations related to inciting, causing factional division and disunity. In addition, the workers in the capital have a very high awareness of improving labor efficiency, they always share improvement ideas with superior managers and work together to implement those improvements.
To develop the workforce in the new era, Mr. Nguyen Minh Son said that it is necessary to further strengthen activities to care for the material and spiritual life as well as improve knowledge and labor awareness among the workforce. It is necessary to provide specialized orientations, open training courses by topic, focusing on supplementing legal knowledge on labor law. At the same time, there is practical concern for workers in difficult circumstances in the company. Pay attention to improving workers' skills through creative initiative competitions and excellent workers.
In order to continue to effectively implement Program 06-CTr/TU as well as Directive 30-CT/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee on "Strengthening the leadership of the Party Committee in building elegant and civilized Hanoians", the City Labor Federation is continuing to focus on implementing a number of solutions in the coming time. In particular, paying attention to developing and improving the quality of activities of SHVHCN points, Cultural - Sports Clusters, Self-management Teams of workers' dormitories; attracting a large number of workers and civil servants to participate, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers and laborers, maintaining social order and safety in the area.
Along with that, annually, survey, establish new and supplement books for the Trade Union Bookcases at the SHVHCN points and the Self-Management Groups of workers' dormitories in enterprises. Coordinate with authorities at all levels, relevant departments, branches, sectors, and organizations and mobilize social resources to build and strengthen the activities of cultural institutions for union members and workers in a systematic and oriented manner, focusing on industrial parks and workers' dormitories. Coordinate with sectors, economic and social organizations to regularly organize cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities to serve union members and workers.
