In today's adjustment session, from 3:00 p.m., the price of RON 95 gasoline decreased by VND710/liter, with a new selling price of VND20,400/liter. Similarly, the price of E5 gasoline was also adjusted down by VND690/liter, with the selling price down to VND19,960/liter. Meanwhile, the price of diesel oil was adjusted down by VND620/liter, with the selling price at VND18,330/liter.

The reason for the drop in oil prices is that the US maintains a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico, while considering adjusting a 10% tariff on energy imports from Canada. The US tariffs have led to retaliatory moves from Canada and China, raising concerns about slowing economic growth, affecting demand for crude oil.
In addition, OPEC+’s decision to increase production by 138,000 barrels per day from April, the first adjustment since 2022, also put pressure on oil prices. Although the group emphasized that it would only increase supply when the market could absorb it, analysts are concerned that this could be the start of a series of adjustments.
According to data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), US crude oil inventories increased sharply by 3.6 million barrels in the last week of February, 10 times higher than forecast. Meanwhile, global demand last month reached 103.6 million barrels/day, up 1.6 million barrels/day compared to the same period last year but still lower than the forecast of 1.8 million barrels/day. The above factors have caused world oil prices to have a general downward trend in recent days.
The regulatory agency does not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and fuel oil.
