At 9:00 a.m. on August 13, the selling price of SJC gold bars was listed by SJC Company and commercial banks at VND80 million/tael, an increase of VND500,000/tael compared to the previous day. On the other hand, the buying price of gold bars was listed by SJC Company at VND78 million/tael.

The price of 24K gold rings and jewelry of all kinds is traded around 76.6 million VND/tael for buying, 77.9 million VND/tael for selling - an increase of 400,000 VND/tael compared to August 12.

Some other businesses sell gold rings at a lower price, around 77.88 million VND/tael.

A notable development in the market recently is that the difference in gold ring prices between companies such as SJC, PNJ, DOJI or Bao Tin Minh Chau is no longer as large as before. A few months ago, the price of plain gold rings sold by companies could differ by up to a million VND.

Domestic gold prices have skyrocketed following the rise in world gold prices. In the international market, gold prices today were traded at $2,466/ounce, up about $40 (equivalent to VND1.2 million/tael) compared to the previous session. Gold prices have increased sharply as investors expect the US to cut its basic interest rate for the first time in September.

The cooling of the USD in the international market also supported the gold price to continue to increase. The USD index (DXY) fell below the 103 point mark when it was trading at 102.9 points.

Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 75.2 million VND/tael, only 2.7 million VND/tael lower than gold rings and about 4.8 million VND/tael lower than SJC gold bars. This is a record low difference between the domestic gold price and the world gold price in recent times.
