* According to Thanh Hoa Radio and Television, currently, African swine fever is developing complicatedly nationwide, with a tendency to increase sharply, including in the provinces bordering Thanh Hoa. Although African swine fever has not yet occurred in this locality, the direction of the Provincial People's Committee is to proactively take preventive measures, minimizing the risk of disease infiltration and outbreak.
Thanh Hoa is controlling African swine fever well. However, with a total herd of over 1.3 million pigs, small-scale farming is still common, the African swine fever virus has a very complex transmission route, and the risk of African swine fever outbreak in the province is very high.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Hoa has directed localities and units to resolutely implement measures to prevent and control African swine fever according to the direction of the Central Government and the province; strengthen propaganda to raise people's awareness of disease prevention; monitor the total herd; strengthen control of slaughter, transportation and trading of pigs.
At the same time, urge and guide livestock farming households, especially small-scale livestock farming households, to apply biosafety measures, review and count the number of vaccinated pigs to develop plans, allocate funds to purchase vaccines and organize synchronous vaccination; strictly control the source of breeds to prevent the spread of African swine fever from outside into the farm.
