* Livestock business group reported profits of several times
Vietnam's pig herd is on the rise again as household farming shifts to semi-industrial farming and links with businesses. However, ASF is still complicated in many localities, making the livestock situation unstable, especially in the household sector.
In that context, most livestock enterprises recorded growth thanks to stable meat prices in the first half of 2024.
Standing out in the overall picture of the livestock industry are the business results from Dabaco and BAF with triple-digit profit growth in the first half of 2024 thanks to a sharp increase in pig sales.
Specifically, in the second quarter of 2024, BAF Vietnam Agricultural Joint Stock Company (HoSE: BAF) recorded net revenue of VND 1,225 billion, down 23%. However, thanks to a sharp decrease in cost of goods sold of more than 30%, the company's gross profit in the period increased by 89% to VND 174 billion.
After tax, Mr. Truong Sy Ba's business achieved significant profit growth, 4 times higher than the same period to 34 billion VND.
