At the end of the commodity trading session on the London - UK exchange in the early morning of March 21, today's coffee price decreased from 24 - 30 USD/ton.

The highest Robusta coffee price is for delivery in May 2025, at 5,497 USD/ton after a decrease of 30 USD/ton; the lowest is for delivery in November 2025, at 5,331 USD/ton, a decrease of 24 USD/ton.

For the two delivery terms of July and September 2025, Robusta coffee prices were 5,482 and 5,425 USD/ton, respectively, after decreasing by 27 and 28 USD/ton.

Domestic coffee price today is at 133,900 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

In contrast to Robusta, Arabica coffee on the New York floor - USA increased slightly by less than 0.5%. The delivery term in May 2025 is 8,640 USD/ton, an increase of 20 USD/ton.

Regarding the current coffee market, Mr. Do Ha Nam, Vice President of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA) and leader of Vietnam's No. 1 coffee exporting company (Intimex) said that Vietnamese farmers are currently regulating the market, not only domestically but also internationally.

For example, on a day when Vietnamese farmers sell a lot of coffee, the price of coffee on the London floor is likely to fall that evening. The coffee price on the floor is the reference for domestic prices, but the speed of sales and the selling price of Vietnamese farmers also affect the floor price.

"Coffee inventory among farmers is still about 50% of the output, but we have no way to buy coffee if they don't want to sell. Farmers now have very close information so they can decide the best time to sell," said Mr. Do Ha Nam.

According to Mr. Nam, although the cost of producing coffee is about 30,000 VND/kg, the selling price of 135,000 VND/kg is super profitable. However, farmers find that coffee can be stored for a long time so there is no need to sell it because storing coffee is more profitable than selling it to deposit money in the bank.

The head of Vietnam's largest coffee exporting company emphasized that Vietnamese coffee is currently "alone" in the world market because Brazil has also run out of supplies. Therefore, coffee prices remain high. If there is a big change, it will be after May because that is when Brazil enters its harvest season.
