FPT In Japan Received Certificate Of Merit From Minister Of Information And Communications

Despite the volatile global economy, businesses facing many challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic, the devaluation of the yen, etc., Vietnamese IT enterprises are still determined to overcome difficulties, comprehensively accompanying Japanese partners in digital transformation to improve competitiveness, and still maintaining good revenue growth rates, researching many advanced and useful solutions. To recognize, commend and encourage these pioneering enterprises, the Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam decided to award Certificates of Merit to 6 enterprises including: FPT Japan, VTI Japan, Luvina Japan, Rikkei Japan, CMC Japan and Kaopiz. The Vietnam IT Day 2024 program took place on August 6 in Tokyo, Japan with the theme " Vietnam - Comprehensive Information Technology (IT) Partner for Japan's Sustainable Digital Economic Development". The event was jointly organized by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), the Japan Information Technology Services Industry Association (JISA) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) under the auspices of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam. This is one of three annual trade promotion activities connecting Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises, promoting cooperation between enterprises of the two countries in the field of digital technology, and supporting the promotion of Vietnamese IT enterprises in the international market. Vietnam IT Day 2024 was attended by Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu, representatives of the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and 250 delegates from the two countries. In addition to the workshop, the program also has 15 booths of Vietnamese enterprises and 1:1 trade connection activities between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises with about 180 meetings. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Chairman of the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), digital technology cooperation between businesses of the two countries has continuously developed rapidly and strongly. Therefore, in this 11th edition, Vietnam IT Day 2024 chose the theme "Vietnam - Comprehensive information technology partner for Japan's sustainable digital economic development" with 3 messages which are also cooperation directions in the next 5-10 years. Including: Digital transformation of systems and application of artificial intelligence (AI); digital transformation of production - green transformation; readiness of human resources and digital technology enterprises in Vietnam for the shift of Japanese partners. According to Mr. Noriya Tarutani, Deputy Director of the Innovation Department of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), every year there is a certain amount of direct investment from Japan in Vietnam in the field of information technology and by 2023 there will be 59 investments, equivalent to 20% of the total. In recent years, there have been Japanese startups establishing development bases in Vietnam. Some companies are eyeing Vietnam’s excellent engineers and positioning Vietnam as a base for R&D and development of advanced technologies such as AI. On the other hand, investment from Vietnam to Japan continues to grow strongly, and the IT sector accounts for the majority of JETRO’s consulting activities for Vietnamese companies expanding to Japan.
