Hue Nam Temple Festival (or Hon Chen Temple) is a traditional activity with spiritual cultural elements worshiping the Holy Mother Thien YA Na, held in the 3rd and 7th lunar months every year. It is considered colorful and vibrant, attracting a large number of followers of the Mother Goddess Worship belief with tens of thousands of people attending.
This is also considered a traditional folk cultural festival with a typical community character of the ancient capital of Hue.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Hue Nam Temple Festival aims to contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural and heritage values associated with the relic; at the same time, meeting the spiritual needs of the community practicing the worship of the Three Palaces - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO.
Within the framework of the festival, the Hue Nam Palace Sponsoring Board coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports of Thua Thien Hue province, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center and related departments and agencies to organize a procession by river from 352 Chi Lang Street (Hue City) to Hue Nam Palace (Huong Tho Commune, Hue City).
The activity aims to recreate and build a unique, large-scale folk festival, displaying the unique features of colorful ancient costumes, combined with performances and dances typical of the Mother Goddess Worship - Vietnamese folk belief, worshiping goddesses and promoting the role of women.
The procession on the Perfume River included dozens of dragon boats, built into Bang (double boats) and Chau An (single boats), with the palanquin of the Holy Mother and the royal decree, as well as objects of worship such as umbrellas, canopies, flags, and fans. In addition, there were a team of mediums, servants, and thousands of pilgrims.

Hue Nam Temple Festival 2024 - July of the lunar calendar, takes place from August 11 to August 13 (July 8-10 of the lunar calendar) at 352 Chi Lang (Hue City), Hue Nam Temple and Hai Cat communal house (Huong Tho commune, Hue City, Thua Thien Hue province).
From early morning on August 11, many saints, fellow believers, people and tourists from all over the world were present at Thien Tien Holy Church at 352 Chi Lang Street, Hue City to participate in the ceremony.
Here, after performing the ceremony, the Royal Procession moved onto dragon boats and then went upstream on the Perfume River to Hue Nam Palace.
At Hue Nam temple, there will be main ceremonies such as the Opening Ceremony - Announcement Ceremony, the Main Ceremony and Prayer for National Peace and People's Peace, the pilgrimage ceremony of fellow believers, welcoming the Holy Mother and the Four Palaces Council to attend the ceremony at Hai Cat communal house.
Besides, there are also festival activities at Hai Cat communal house area, the main ceremony at Hai Cat communal house, the thanksgiving ceremony and the closing ceremony of the festival at Hue Nam temple.
