In recent years, the Provincial Journalists Association has regularly conducted activities to innovate and improve the quality of press products and press works in the forms of print, radio, television and electronic newspapers... by experienced journalists at key national press and media agencies, such as: Nhan Dan Newspaper, Voice of Vietnam Radio, Vietnam Television, Vietnam News Agency and the Center for Journalism Training under the Vietnam Journalists Association.
Opening the discussion, journalist Doan Hong Phuc - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association of Kien Giang province said: "To contribute to improving the quality of press products and press works, we must first innovate training methods and foster journalism skills. Each time a class is opened, the Provincial Journalists Association agrees with the lecturers and leaders of press agencies to choose a topic that is suitable for the development trend, especially dedicating 2/3 of the time for journalism training to practical experience activities, doing practical exercises, and at the end of the course, there must be a practical product".

Accordingly, from the 7th term (2020-2025) up to now, the Provincial Journalists Association has organized or coordinated with the Center for Journalism Training under the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize 16 journalism training courses, with more than 750 members, reporters, and journalists in and outside the province participating in learning about creative journalistic skills in all types of journalism. The training courses all aim to improve the quality of journalistic products and high-quality journalistic works, in which skills are the main factor, contributing to practically serving the digital transformation roadmap of journalism according to the policies of the Party, the State, the Provincial Party Committee, and the People's Committee of Kien Giang province.
At the seminar, representatives of the leaders of Kien Giang Radio and Television Station, leaders of the Editorial Board of Kien Giang Newspaper, and members, reporters, and editors exchanged and discussed the current situation and solutions for organizing the creation of works for press awards; the role of the Journalists Association in advising leaders of press agencies in creating works for awards; the choice of topics and issues raised by the association and press agencies; the regime and policies of press agencies for authors/groups of authors implementing topics for press awards.

Journalist Vo Hoang Duong - Deputy Editor-in-Chief in charge of Kien Giang Newspaper, and Journalist Do Quoc Buu - Deputy Director of Kien Giang Radio and Television Station, highly appreciated the organization of this discussion and believed that the activity was extremely practical in improving the quality of journalistic works as well as journalistic products in the digital age. The leaders of newspapers and stations also shared major innovations and orientations in the process of implementing solutions to improve the quality of printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio and television newspapers at present and in the future.

With the experience of a person who has won the journalism award on Party Building (Golden Hammer and Sickle), National Journalism Award, Kien Giang Provincial Journalism Award..., Journalist Le Tay Ho - Deputy Secretary of Kien Giang Newspaper Journalists Association, shared his memories and difficulties in creating works for the contest, especially investigative articles, writing topics on Party building..., and at the same time hoped that the Journalists Association and press agencies would create the best conditions for reporters to create high-quality journalistic works. Journalist Le Tay Ho suggested that, in the award structure of the Provincial Journalism Competition, the Organizing Committee should receive, consider and award prizes for video media products and works on electronic newspapers, in order to encourage journalists to improve the quality of journalistic products on multiple platforms, especially digital platforms.
Journalist Dinh Van Manh, journalist Huynh Thi Dieu Hang and journalist Doan Thi Phung (Members of the Journalists Association of Kien Giang Radio and Television Station), who have won many journalism awards at the National Radio Festival and Kien Giang Provincial Journalism Awards, shared valuable experiences in producing and creating journalistic works in various forms of radio and television to participate in central and local journalism awards.
Journalist Huynh Thi Dieu Hang said that due to the nature of radio and television newspapers, which are collective products and work in groups, when a work wins an award, the full name is not recorded in the certificate, certificate of merit, or certificate of merit, especially the name of the editor and reader. She suggested that the Organizing Committee of the provincial press awards should pay attention and innovate on this reflection.
Mr. Pham Quang Nho - Director of the Giang Thanh District Culture, Sports and Information Center, member of the Secretariat of the Long Xuyen Quadrangle Journalists Association, appreciated the attention of the leaders of the Provincial Journalists Association and press agencies in the province in recent times, especially creating conditions for cadres and reporters of districts and cities, including Giang Thanh, to participate in training and create press works following modern trends. Mr. Pham Quang Nho suggested that the Provincial Journalists Association and press agencies in the province should create conditions for reporters of the centers to be admitted to the Vietnam Journalists Association, so that journalists in the district have more opportunities to participate in training, exchange professional skills, contributing to improving the quality of propaganda on district-level radio, and bringing propaganda press works to local newspapers and radio stations.

At the end of the discussion, Journalist Doan Hong Phuc - Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Journalists Association thanked the attention of the provincial leaders, leaders of media agencies, press agencies... in the past time for creating favorable conditions for the activities of the Provincial Journalists Association and the working activities of members, reporters and journalists. After the seminar, the Vietnam Journalists Association of Kien Giang province held a closing ceremony and awarded certificates to 42 trainees of the Journalism Training Course with the topic "Advanced TV report creation skills" organized by the Provincial Journalists Association. During the previous 2 days, members, reporters, and journalists working at press agencies, Cultural and Information Centers of districts, cities, and armed forces in the province received training in contents such as: short reports in news programs, skills in processing short reports to create topicality, appeal, and "live" with the breath of society; skills in leading the scene in short reports; producing short reports using mobile phones and doing group exercises...
