Nearly 7 months ago, on (January 18), in Tan Thai commune, Dai Tu district (Thai Nguyen), the Vietnam Journalists Association coordinated with the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the project to restore and embellish the national historical site of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School.
It is known that, in response to the need to preserve and promote historical values, over the past years, the Vietnam Journalists Association together with the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province have repeatedly surveyed, researched, and collected documents related to the Bo Ra location - where the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School is located.
With documents and artifacts, through direct accounts of witnesses, with the help and cooperation of officials and people of Tan Thai commune, Dai Tu district, and functional agencies of Thai Nguyen province, the address of the place where Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was held in 1949 was accurately located at the hill forest plot number 32, map sheet 47, position 21 degrees 35 minutes 20 seconds North latitude; 105 degrees 41 minutes 42 seconds East longitude.
The project has been renovated and embellished since January 18th. Up to now, this project has been basically completed and is waiting for the inauguration day on August 9th.
According to the reporter's records on August 7, the project to restore and embellish the National Historical Site of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School has been completed, including 3 main items: the Viet Minh Headquarters building; the 2-storey Journalism Teaching Building and other items (stele house, fence, gate, guard house, etc.).
The entire building was built on an area of 859 square meters with a total cost of about 12 billion VND from socialized capital, with the Vietnam Journalists Association as the investor.
The yard area is a square for event organization, 200 m2 wide, highlighted by a large relief.
The relief is an image of 48 portraits of the Board of Directors, lecturers and students of the School.
In the middle of the yard, straight to the entrance gate, is a stone stele with a summary of the historical site of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School.
On the second floor is the exhibition house of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School.

The exhibition house of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School, in the form of a 80 m2 level 4 house built on a high hill, is modeled after recorded documents and some remaining documentary images. It used to be a bamboo house, but now it is a wooden frame house with a fireproof artificial thatched roof.
Inside many documents and artifacts are reproduced.
On the surrounding walls hung many pictures of articles as well as pictures of the Board of Directors consisting of 5 people: Do Duc Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Viet Minh General Department, Editor-in-Chief of the Doc Lap Newspaper, Director; Xuan Thuy, Permanent Secretary of the Viet Minh General Department, Editor-in-Chief of the Cuu Quoc Newspaper, Deputy Director; Nhu Phong, Editor-in-Chief of the Cuu Quoc Newspaper of Lien Khu X, Standing Member; writer, journalist Do Phon, Supervisory Member; Tu Mo, poet, journalist, Supervising Member.
According to Journalist Tran Thi Kim Hoa - Head of the Vietnam Press Museum, the project investor, this is a project of high artistic, cultural and historical value, directly designed by Architect Hoang Thuc Hao. After completion, this will be a place to preserve and introduce the values of Revolutionary and Resistance Journalism in Viet Bac, serving the press, the people and tourists of Nui Coc Lake.
The Viet Minh Headquarters was rebuilt and reconstructed in the traditional stilt house architecture.
After knowing that the project was basically completed, only some finishing touches remained. Many local people came to visit early.
Wishing her students to learn more about historical sites in the area, Ms. Ha Thi Huong Quynh, team leader, and Ms. Le Thuy Dung, math teacher of Tan Thai Primary and Secondary School (Tan Thai Commune, Dai Tu District, Thai Nguyen Province) took the students to visit the site.
After being guided by teachers to visit, the students attentively listened to the history of Huynh Thuc Khang journalism school.
Ms. Ha Thi Huong Quynh said that when she brought her students here to visit and learn about the historical site of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School, she was extremely moved. When she learned that although this school only opened and trained for a short period of time (3 months), Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School marked an initial victory on the ideological front, training journalism, laying the foundation for the development of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism training later.
“In order to educate students about historical traditions, every year, the school’s teachers also organize many extracurricular activities and field trips to red addresses. Through these activities, we aim to educate the tradition of patriotism so that students will know how to appreciate and be grateful to previous generations, inherit and promote the good traditions of the nation.” – Ms. Huong Quynh said.
