Vietnamese people go on "incentive tourism" in Korea more than in China

According to Ms. Song Eun Kyeong - Director of MICE Marketing Department, Korea Tourism Organization, in 2023, the number of Korean tourists to Vietnam reached 3.6 million. Meanwhile, Vietnamese tourists to Korea also exceeded 420,000, becoming the largest market in Southeast Asia. In particular, Vietnam is an important market for incentive tourism - a form of organization with the main purpose of rewarding people with outstanding achievements in companies and units - in Korea. "The number of Vietnamese reward tourists that the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam supported in 2023 alone was approximately 41,000. Thereby surpassing the group of Thai and Chinese tourists, becoming the Asian country with the highest proportion of reward tourists to Korea" - Ms. Song Eun Kyeong said. According to statistics, the number of domestic reward tourists to Korea in 2023 increased 3 times compared to 2022. With both sides regularly implementing support programs for tourists, Ms. Song Eun Kyeong expects tourism exchanges between the two countries to exceed 5 million visitors for the first time since opening.
