On August 2, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision No. 767 to temporarily appoint Mr. Dao Thanh Truong, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, to hold the position of Vice Rector of the National University.

The new Vice President of Hanoi National University, Dao Thanh Truong, was born in 1980 in Hai Phong.

Mr. Dao Thanh Truong has a high level of theoretical knowledge, and a professional qualification of PhD in Sociology in 2010 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU). He was appointed Associate Professor of Sociology in 2016.

Mr. Dao Thanh Truong is an expert in the field of policy research and analysis; science, technology and innovation management.

With his contributions to training and developing human resources for science and technology management, building and developing postgraduate training programs on science and technology management in Vietnam, he was awarded the "For the cause of science and technology" Medal from the Ministry of Science and Technology (2017), and a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister (2020).

Mr. Dao Thanh Truong has held many important leadership and management positions such as: Head of the Department of Science and Technology Management, Head of the Faculty of Management Science, Director of the Institute of Policy and Management (Key Research Center of VNU).

Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU and Head of the Executive Board of the Scientists' Club, VNU.
