
The reference test is designed according to the 2018 general education program (new program). This is an important basis for candidates to orient their review to participate in exams from 2025.
Accordingly, the exam consists of 3 parts. With 2 compulsory parts of the HSA exam, the exam structure includes 50 questions in Mathematics and Data Processing, 50 questions in the field of Literature - Language. In the third part, candidates are allowed to choose to take the Science or English exam within a time limit of 60 minutes.
For the Science section, candidates choose 3 out of 5 topics: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography. Each topic has 17 questions. The English section has 50 objective multiple choice questions.
According to Hanoi National University, about 75% of the questions in the HSA exam are 4-choice objective questions, the rest are other types of multiple choice questions. The questions will exploit rich data sources, assessing students' thinking in each field and across fields.
Along with that, the school notes to candidates that in the reference exam as well as the official exam, the questions are not arranged from easy to difficult but are randomly shuffled according to a fixed matrix.
