On the afternoon of August 9, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department and the Department of Culture and Sports (VH-TT) of Ho Chi Minh City organized the signing of a joint plan in the work of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety (TTATXH), and fighting and preventing crimes in the field of culture and sports.
Co-chairing the ceremony were Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police; Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports Tran The Thuan. Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Propaganda Department Tang Huu Phong also attended.
The signing between the two units aims to enhance responsibility in performing the task of ensuring security and order, fighting against crimes and acts of taking advantage of cultural and sports activities to violate the law; ensuring unified, proactive, positive, close, regular, timely and effective direction.
In particular, Ho Chi Minh City Police will guide agencies and enterprises in the field of culture and information on the content and form of launching the movement for the whole people to protect national security; building regimes and regulations to protect agencies; preventing and detecting crimes, protecting state secrets, and network information security...
The two units will exchange information on methods and tricks of criminals who take advantage of the cultural and sports sector to violate national security and social order and safety; strengthen coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports to contact and mobilize artists, coaches, athletes, and prestigious experts in the cultural and sports sector to participate in ensuring security and order.
In state management, strengthen coordination in cultural business fields with conditions on security and order, especially at a time when Ho Chi Minh City is entering activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has about 5,500 artists gathered in the Union of Literature and Arts Associations and more than 3,000 freelance artists; in the field of sports, there are 620 coaches, 2,368 athletes of 48 sports. Every year, there are 8 city-level festivals, 143 district and commune-level festivals and about 400 sports tournaments.
In recent times, the two units have contributed to maintaining security and order on the cultural and ideological front, organizing festivals, political events, cultural and artistic programs, physical training and sports activities in Ho Chi Minh City; contributing to promoting socio-economic development, stabilizing security and social order and safety.
