On the morning of April 29, at the 22nd Session, the Hanoi People's Council, term XVI, 2021-2026, voted to pass the Resolution on the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units in Hanoi, with an approval rate of 100%.

Previously, according to the Head of the Legal Committee of the City People's Council   Hanoi Duy Hoang Duong, the arrangement plan is implemented carefully, thoroughly, scientifically, with appropriate and strict methods, in compliance with the law, ensuring comprehensiveness, synchronization, and unity in the political system.

In particular, the results of the implementation steps in the implementation process show that the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units in Hanoi has received high attention, support, consensus and agreement from voters in the capital.

According to the report of Hanoi People's Committee, before the arrangement, Hanoi had 526 commune-level administrative units (including 160 wards, 21 towns and 345 communes).

After the arrangement, Hanoi City has 126 left.   Commune-level administrative units (including 50 wards and 76 communes).

The list of 50 wards below is arranged as follows:   Hoan Kiem, Cua Nam, Hong Ha, Linh Nam, Ba Dinh, Ngoc Ha, Giang Vo, Hai Ba Trung, Vinh Tuy, Bach Mai, Dong Da, Kim Lien, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, Lang, O Cho Dua, Hoang Mai, Vinh Hung, Tuong Mai, Dinh Cong, Hoang Liet, Yen So, Thanh Xuan, Khuong Dinh, Phuong Liet, Cau Giay, Nghia Do, Yen Hoa, Tay Ho, Phu Thuong, Tay Tuu, Phu Dien, Xuan Dinh, Dong Ngac, Thuong Cat, Tu Liem, Xuan Phuong, Tay Mo, Dai Mo, Long Bien, Bo De, Viet Hung, Phuc Loi, Ha Dong, Duong Noi, Yen Nghia, Phu Luong, Kien Hung, Chuong My, Son Tay, Tung Thien.

Discussing this content, delegates expressed their high agreement with the arrangement of commune-level administrative units and the way the City Steering Committee works in this area. The arrangement has solved the problem of overlapping between communes and wards in the past; the names are taken from cultural and historical places, retaining the names of districts and counties; the city's approach is methodical, scientific and democratic. In particular, the city has done a good job of planning the arrangement plan, names, determining place names, working with units in each area; at the same time, promoting propaganda, achieving a high consensus rate from the people.

Delegates suggested that in the coming time, the city should propose to the Central Government to arrange the apparatus and assign appropriate staff, so that after the arrangement, the apparatus can be put into operation effectively, with quality, and without interruption.
