The "Cu Lao Cham - Red Corn Season" Festival 2024 and the ceremony to receive the title of national intangible cultural heritage for the traditional craft of weaving corn hammocks are events in the series of activities of the "Hoi An - Summer Emotions 2024" Sea Festival in response to the National Biodiversity Recovery Year and National Tourism Year 2024. The event is expected to be a highlight tourism event, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to visit Cu Lao Cham.

Hoi An City People's Committee said that in recent years, Cu Lao Cham has been known more widely as "the island of parasol flowers". Parasol is a sturdy tree that grows from rocky mountains, the more arid and sunny the drought, the more brilliant the flowers bloom, creating a bright red shadow that stands out against the sea and sky of Cu Lao Cham. Parasol has been associated with the daily life of Cu Lao Cham people since ancient times with the craft of weaving parasol hammocks.
