Vietnamese Embassy in Greece organizes the Homeland Spring 2025 program

On January 20, in the bustling atmosphere welcoming the Year of the Snake across all regions of the country, the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece organized the Homeland Spring 2025 program for the Vietnamese community in Greece.

Attending the ceremony were more than 100 overseas Vietnamese and their families living, studying and working in Greece, along with many Greek friends, including honorary consuls of Vietnam in Greece, representatives of the Greece-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Association, former President of the Greece-Vietnam Friendship Association, former Greek Ambassador to Vietnam, and all embassy staff and their families.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Pham Thi Thu Huong reviewed Vietnam's outstanding achievements in various fields in 2024, in which the economy continued to recover positively with high growth, political and social stability, and strengthened national defense and security, creating an important foundation for sustainable development for the country and improving people's lives.

Foreign affairs and international integration are promoted, expanded, consolidating Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena. 2025 is the year of breakthrough and acceleration to bring the country into a new era, an era of national growth, prosperity and development.

2025 is a year with many important national holidays and is also a year of special significance for both Vietnam and Greece as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. The good traditional friendship in recent times is the foundation for the two countries to continue promoting cooperation in many potential and open areas such as maritime, investment, labor, tourism, etc. as well as promoting people-to-people exchanges.

As a bridge for the relationship between the two countries, the Vietnamese community in Greece plays an important role in bringing the image of the country, people and culture of Vietnam to Greek friends. More and more Vietnamese people come to travel, seek investment opportunities, work… contributing to the development of this European country.

The Vietnamese State always considers the overseas Vietnamese community in general, including the Vietnamese community in Greece, an inseparable part of the Vietnamese national community and an important resource for the country's development.

The Vietnamese Embassy is the common home of Vietnamese people in Greece, always accompanying and wishing to work with the people to foster the friendly relationship between the two countries, at the same time promoting the national cultural traditions, maintaining the Vietnamese language for the young generation and uniting, looking towards the homeland.

Speaking at the event, representing the Honorary Consuls of Vietnam in Greece, Mr. Vasileios Constatinidis, Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Thesaloniki city, expressed his joy at celebrating the traditional Tet of Vietnam; affirmed his desire to continue accompanying the Embassy in activities to promote relations between the two countries, hoping that the new year will bring prosperity, happiness and peace to both Vietnam and Greece.

Representative of overseas Vietnamese in Greece, Ms. Fotini Sarantidou Nguyen Bach Tuyet, daughter of Greek hero of the Vietnam People's Army Kostas Sarantidis - Nguyen Van Lap, expressed her emotion at being able to celebrate Tet according to traditional national customs and thanked the Embassy for organizing a very thoughtful meeting for the community at the beginning of the spring.

Traditional dishes were prepared by the Ambassador, Embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese.

Overseas Vietnamese in Greece are proud of the achievements their country has made; they hope that the Vietnamese community in the country will continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, sharing, mutual development, preserving national identity, always looking towards their homeland, actively contributing to the cause of national construction and protection and acting as a bridge to promote the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Many overseas Vietnamese also expressed their emotions when attending the Homeland Spring 2025 program and enjoying traditional dishes prepared by the Ambassador, Embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese together.

Previously, the Embassy organized a Chung cake wrapping event with the participation of the community. The activities within the framework of Xuan Que Huong 2025 organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece created a cozy atmosphere, bringing the flavor of Vietnamese Tet as well as creating conditions for the community to meet, exchange, strengthen solidarity, cohesion and preserve the traditional beauty of the nation.
