The 15th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hai Phong City

Also attending the Congress were comrade Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation, along with representatives of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor in the renovation period; representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of several provinces and cities, and 278 official delegates representing the classes and strata of Hai Phong city's people.

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong acknowledged and commended the outstanding achievements of the Fatherland Front at all levels of Hai Phong city during the past term. The outstanding achievements of Hai Phong city have the participation and very important contributions of the system of Fatherland Front at all levels of the city and its member organizations.

In the coming time, the Hai Phong City Fatherland Front needs to proactively seek opinions from the Party Committee and proactively coordinate with the government to propose and develop work programs, especially patriotic emulation movements, campaigns closely following the city's major policies and decisions and urgent issues from the grassroots. The Front needs to select a number of key contents to deploy into thematic areas to create highlights such as: Coordinate with local authorities to mobilize people to comply with Party regulations and state laws on land recovery and site clearance to implement socio-economic development projects; Mobilize people to participate in solving ineffective mini water plants; Build civilized, model urban areas, implement social policies, and sustainably reduce poverty...

Comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, praised the achievements of the Hai Phong City Fatherland Front in the past time, suggesting 5 contents for the Congress to focus on discussing and agreeing on for implementation. In the 2024 - 2029 term, the Fatherland Front at all levels of Hai Phong City must improve the work of social supervision and criticism. Reality shows that the work of social supervision and criticism of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is imbued with the people's character, saying what is seen, providing multi-dimensional information about the people's voices so that competent State agencies can self-examine and self-correct; carefully consider to make more accurate policies and decisions. From there, it is required that one of the current capacities of Front officials is to know how to listen to people's opinions.

In the coming term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hai Phong city needs to better perform its core political role, mobilize all classes of people to promote the glorious tradition of the city, continue to unite, strive to successfully implement Resolution No. 45-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and developing Hai Phong city to 2030, with a vision to 2045, realizing the aspiration to build Hai Phong city into a rich, beautiful, civilized, modern city; a city with high-level development, leading the country in patriotic emulation movements.

The Congress democratically elected 93 members to join the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City, term XV, 2024 - 2029; unanimously elected the Hai Phong City Fatherland Front Delegation to attend the 10th Congress of Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024 - 2029, including 9 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates.

Comrade Dao Trong Duc, member of the Standing Committee of Hai Phong City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City, term XIV, 2019 - 2024, was trusted by the Congress to continue to be elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City, term XV, 2024 - 2029.

The 15th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hai Phong City, term 2024 - 2029, with the theme "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Development" took place over 2 days, July 31 and August 1.
