According to information from Hanoi National University, Mr. Dao Thanh Truong has a high level of theory, a professional qualification of Doctor of Sociology in 2010 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi National University and was appointed to the title of Associate Professor of Sociology in 2016.

He is an expert in the field of policy research and analysis; science, technology and innovation management. With his contributions to training and developing human resources for science and technology management, building and developing postgraduate training programs on science and technology management in Vietnam, Mr. Dao Thanh Truong was awarded the Medal "For the cause of science and technology" by the Ministry of Science and Technology (2017), and a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister (2020).

Mr. Dao Thanh Truong has held many important leadership and management positions such as: Head of the Department of Science and Technology Management, Head of the Faculty of Management Science, Director of the Institute of Policy and Management (Key Research Center of Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Head of the Executive Board of the Scientists' Club, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Up to this point, the Board of Directors of Hanoi National University has 5 members including: Director Le Quan, 4 deputy directors: Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Bao Son, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hieu and Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong.
