According to booking data from June 15 to July 7 on the Agoda platform, Da Lat is a prominent domestic destination with an average room rate of VND1.45 million. The city of thousands of flowers has dethroned Hue, which led the rankings in April 2024.

According to Agoda's rankings, besides Da Lat in Vietnam, destinations such as Hat Yai (Thailand), Yogyakarta (Indonesia), Kuching (Malaysia) and Siargao Island (Philippines), Narita (Japan), Goa (India), Taichung (Taiwan) and Busan (South Korea) are also becoming priority choices for tourists.

The data is based on the lowest average room rates from August 15 to September 30. The trend towards more affordable destinations reflects a shift in travel sentiment, where affordable prices and diverse experiences are gradually replacing expensive, lavish holidays.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, director of Agoda in Vietnam, said that with the increasing demand for vacations at the end of the year, Agoda's ranking of the most economical travel destinations in Asia will help tourists make suitable choices, enjoy an exciting vacation while still maintaining a reasonable budget.

"These destinations not only offer unique experiences but also meet the needs of tourists, whether for a short or long stay. We hope this list will inspire and encourage tourists to explore new destinations at a more economical cost," said Mr. Lam.
