On August 13, digital travel platform Agoda updated its list of the most affordable destinations in Asia. Specifically, according to Agoda, in August and September this year, Hat Yai (Thailand) is the most ideal choice for those interested in budget travel. In Vietnam, Da Lat city has the most competitive room rates during this period.

Dalat is the destination with the most reasonable room rates in Vietnam and ranked 5th in Asia.

According to booking data from June 15 to July 7, 2024 on the Agoda platform, Da Lat is a prominent domestic destination with an average room rate of VND1,450,000. The city of thousands of flowers has dethroned the dreamy Hue, which topped the rankings in April this year.

Agoda's list brings together the most popular tourist destinations in Asia with many attractive booking deals as Asian holidays and festivals approach, including Vietnam's National Day on September 2.

Based on the lowest average room rates from August 15 to September 30, destinations in nine Asian markets ranked from highest to lowest include: Hat Yai (Thailand), Yogyakarta (Indonesia), Kuching (Malaysia), Siargao Island (Philippines), Da Lat (Vietnam), Narita (Japan), Goa (India), Taichung (Taiwan - China) and Busan (South Korea).

Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, Director of Agoda in Vietnam, said that with the increasing demand for relaxing vacations at the end of the year, Agoda's ranking of the most economical travel destinations in Asia will help tourists make appropriate decisions, enjoy an interesting vacation while still being affordable; at the same time, these destinations will also bring unique experiences, meeting the needs of tourists whether short or long term.

Despite having the lowest average room rates, the destinations on the list still ensure a diverse range of experiences, offering a great opportunity for travelers to experience world travel at affordable prices, from bustling, vibrant cities like Busan and Taichung to the peaceful beaches of Siargao Island.

1. Hat Yai, Thailand (Average room rate around 900,000 VND)
