Da Lat promotes activities during Humanitarian Month

(LĐ online) - On April 15, the Dalat Red Cross Society continued its journey of giving love, visiting, and giving gifts to 4 cases of students in difficult circumstances and patients with serious illnesses, each gift worth 2 million VND in cash, cakes, and milk.

The Da Lat Red Cross Society said: Since the issuance of the Humanitarian Month 2025 action plan, the staff, members, volunteers, and youth of the Da Lat Red Cross Society have responded and actively participated. At the same time, it has attracted the participation of many organizations, unions, and people to create a large movement of mutual love and care for those in difficult circumstances.

This year's Humanitarian Month starts from March 1 to May 31, peaking from May 8 (World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day) to May 19 (President Ho Chi Minh's birthday) and is implemented throughout the province.

The goal of mobilizing to give 1,200 gifts, with a total value of 1 billion VND in Humanitarian Month 2025, to date, the Da Lat City Red Cross Society has reached more than 1 billion VND.

The movement was promoted in schools in Da Lat City. The Red Cross Association of Nguyen Trai Primary School, Da Lat, awarded 15 scholarships worth 3 million VND; the Red Cross Association of Tay Son Secondary and High School supported disadvantaged students with 26 health insurance cards and 5 scholarships with a total support fund of more than 25 million VND; the Red Cross Association of Xuan Truong Secondary and High School coordinated with organizations to mobilize support for a student with terminal cancer, with a total amount of more than 134 million VND, contributing to the family's timely medical expenses; the Red Cross Association of Trai Mat Primary School awarded 46 gifts to disadvantaged students, worth more than 23 million VND.

The Da Lat Red Cross Society received 100 gifts and cash sponsored by Van Hue Pagoda (Thu Duc). From this source, the Society organized a cultural exchange and presented 40 million VND to 100 members of the Lam Dong Association for the Blind; at the same time, the Lam Dong Center for Supporting the Development of Inclusive Education presented 240 gifts (candy) to hearing-impaired and mentally disabled children, worth 12 million VND.

In addition, the Da Lat City Red Cross Society has mobilized groups and philanthropists to join in the spirit of "Humanitarian Journey - Spreading Love" to help people in difficult circumstances, such as students with serious illnesses who are still striving to excel in their studies, such as mobilizing the Love Volunteer Group to give 5 gifts to 5 students with serious illnesses in especially difficult circumstances, each gift includes 1.5 million in cash and milk cakes.

During the Humanitarian Month activities in 2025, the Da Lat City Red Cross Society directed the Association's branches to focus on selecting subjects, mobilizing resources to support livelihoods for the disadvantaged to rise up in life and the program "Safety for poor fishermen" under the direction of the Provincial Red Cross Society and the Central Vietnam Red Cross Society.
