On the afternoon of August 7, news from the Department of Performing Arts said that the 2024 National Circus Talent Competition will take place from August 9 to 13 in Hanoi.

The competition was organized by the Department of Performing Arts under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the Vietnam Circus Federation and related agencies and units.

This year's competition has the participation of nearly 100 artists and actors from 4 units: Phuong Nam Art Theater, Vietnam Circus and Variety Arts College, Hanoi Circus and Variety Arts Theater, Vietnam Circus Federation with 20 performances.

Participants are circus artists currently working at public and non-public circus art units, students studying at circus art training facilities nationwide. The registered genres include: Acrobatics, juggling, balancing, magic, comedy, animal training.

The entries are performed twice, are complete acts, have a performance duration on stage from 7 to 12 minutes, and demonstrate the basic characteristics of the circus art form.

The Organizing Committee encourages new performances that are experimental, creative, unique, and novel; costumes, props, and music that meet the content of the performance and the actors' acting techniques.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will award first and second prizes to creative elements such as stagers, trainers, actors, etc.

In particular, within the framework of the competition, there will be a street circus parade with special performances by professional artists, on Tran Nhan Tong walking street and around Thien Quang Lake to serve the public and tourists of the capital.
