Photo: Nguyen Trong Cung To catch cockles, each person prepares a flashlight, a basket and a “fishing” tool, usually made of a bicycle inner tube or a small iron rod, about 35-40cm long. However, the amount of harvest each day depends on weather conditions. Those who have been doing this job for a long time share that, just by observing the weather and the rising and falling sea levels, they can predict the areas with a lot of cockles.
