Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province Nguyen Thanh Hong said that with the theme "Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven's Gate Heritage Route: Where nature meets culture", the workshop is a forum for exchanging and proposing solutions for developing tourism in Quang Nam in general and the western mountainous region of the province in particular.

The workshop will hear tourism experts and domestic and foreign businesses share and suggest solutions for product development, attracting domestic and international tourists, including important markets such as India, Korea, Australia, Southeast Asia and Europe...

In addition, the workshop is also an opportunity to strengthen the connection and cooperation in tourism development between tourist destinations in the province, between domestic and international partners in the tourism industry; at the same time, announce the tourism route connecting from East to West of Quang Nam: Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate, connecting diverse cultures, creating unique and different tourism products and services, contributing to the development of the province's tourism industry, making Quang Nam tourism an attractive destination for tourists.

"This is also an opportunity for Quang Nam to introduce its potential, opportunities and attractive tourism projects, contributing to building the image of Quang Nam tourism into a green tourism brand spreading on the world tourism map," said Mr. Hong.

Speaking at the workshop, Quang Nam Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said that the workshop is one of the important events within the framework of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Quang Nam province and the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee. This is a meaningful activity for Quang Nam province to promote the image, culture and people of Quang Nam to domestic and international friends and tourists.

According to Mr. Triet, the Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate heritage route is the first official intra-provincial tourist route announced in the orientation of developing a new tourism corridor in Quang Nam province, connecting the Hoi An - My Son tourist center with the western and southern regions of the province and further connecting with domestic and regional tourist centers.

On that basis, tourism units and businesses will promote the construction and development of diverse tourism products, providing quality services for domestic and international tourists, especially forming diverse tourism programs with different themes, connecting tourist destinations on one or more tourist routes.

"I believe that with the results achieved in the past time and the right direction of Quang Nam, along with the attention of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the support and cooperation of organizations, localities, and the companionship of businesses, in the coming time, the tourism industry of the province will continuously make breakthroughs, reaching out to the region and the world," said the Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee.

According to Mr. Lee Chang Kun, Vietnam Tourism Ambassador to Korea, Quang Nam province has many favorable conditions to develop into an international-class coastal city with rich nature, including cultural heritages, natural ecosystems and marine ecosystems. In recent years, thanks to the efforts of the leaders of Quang Nam province, the departments of culture and tourism, Quang Nam tourism industry has achieved many successes. In the future, Quang Nam will be widely known as a world-class historical, cultural and marine tourism destination.

"I hope that, through cooperation with local tourism businesses, we will contribute to promoting tourism, while understanding the needs and trends of tourists through digital tourism in line with the times and trends of foreign tourists, and improving service quality," Mr. Ly Xuong Can shared.

In order for the Hoi An – My Son – Dong Giang Heaven Gate heritage route to maximize its potential, there needs to be synchronous solutions to improve infrastructure quality, develop unique tourism products and enhance the experience for visitors, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tan – Chairman of the Board of Directors of FVG Group proposed to complete the transport infrastructure and connections. Along with that, it is necessary to build and develop unique tourism products to attract and retain visitors to stay in Quang Nam longer.

In addition, it is necessary to apply digital technology in tourism promotion and guidance. It is possible to develop an interactive digital map of the route on Google Maps, displaying detailed routes, bus routes connecting this journey with destinations, historical and cultural information and itinerary suggestions. In addition, calling for investment from domestic and foreign enterprises in tourism projects on this route, encouraging public-private partnership models to develop transport infrastructure and tourism services. Strengthening cooperation with domestic and international travel companies to include the heritage route in key tours.

"We expect that the Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate heritage route will become a unique tourist route in the near future, contributing strongly to the development of mountainous tourism in Quang Nam and making Quang Nam an attractive destination on the Vietnam tourism map," said Mr. Tan.

Within the framework of the workshop, a number of main activities took place including: Announcing the decision and awarding the Green Tourism certificate to Dong Giang Heaven Gate Eco-tourism Area; announcing the decision to approve the transport exploitation route on the Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate Heritage Road; awarding the record certificate for the longest dragon-shaped covered corridor in Vietnam; organizing a space to display tourism products, OCOP typical of Quang Nam province; signing memorandums of understanding on cooperation and association to develop tourism in Quang Nam and especially the announcement of the new tourism development corridor of Quang Nam province: "Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate Heritage Road: Where nature harmonizes with culture".

The conference organizers also organized a survey program "Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate Heritage Route: Where nature and culture meet" for tourism experts and domestic and international travel agencies from March 6-9.
