"The situation of Vietnamese citizens in the above countries is still safe," Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Doan Khac Viet answered Tuoi Tre Online 's question at the ministry's regular press conference on the afternoon of August 8. Previously, Tuoi Tre Online asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to update information on the situation of citizens in the Middle East, Myanmar and Bangladesh, as well as assess the situation and citizen protection plans. Responding to this issue, Mr. Doan Khac Viet said that due to the complicated developments in the Middle East, on August 5, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a warning to Vietnamese citizens not to travel to Lebanon, Israel and Iran at the present time. If they are in the above countries, citizens need to evacuate people and property to a third country or return to Vietnam, comply with regulations and instructions on safety and security measures of the host country. With the complicated developments in Bangladesh , on August 7, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a notice, advising citizens to consider not traveling to Bangladesh at this time. According to Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuong, the Vietnamese community in Bangladesh has about 200 people, living scattered everywhere, the largest in the capital Dhaka and Chittagong city. There is a group of 10 students studying at the Asian Women's University in Chittagong and some tourists coming to travel and explore business opportunities in Bangladesh. Citizens in Bangladesh need to be aware of protecting themselves and their families, not going to crowded areas where there is a risk of violence. In Myanmar , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to recommend that if not really necessary, they should not go to states with complicated developments such as Shan state... If they are in these areas, citizens need to quickly have a plan to evacuate people and property to other safe places or return to Vietnam.

Following the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese embassies in the above countries and regions have requested local authorities to ensure maximum safety for Vietnamese citizens. Vietnamese representative agencies have also proactively developed plans to protect citizens if necessary. "We remind citizens to regularly monitor information and recommendations from local agencies, warnings from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as Vietnamese representative agencies in the above countries to respond promptly," Mr. Viet added. Tensions between Israel and Iran, Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah in Lebanon have escalated after the assassination of two leaders of these two groups. Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah - two allies of Tehran - have accused Israel of carrying out the incident and vowed to take revenge. Given the situation in the Middle East, many countries, including the West, have advised their citizens to leave the region. The US, an ally of Israel, has also taken steps to prepare for defense in case Iran and its allies launch a retaliatory attack. In Myanmar, the armed confrontation between the country's military and ethnic minorities has become increasingly dangerous. Many areas are now under the control of ethnic minority groups, and many high-ranking generals of the Myanmar military have been arrested. Meanwhile, in Bangladesh, tensions over a series of socio-economic issues have sparked protests and violence. The protests then escalated into an anti-government movement, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina after 15 years in power, and then turned into riots that left more than 400 people dead. On August 5, the Bangladeshi military confirmed that Ms. Hasina had resigned and left the country on a helicopter.
