Khanh Hoa Football Club Receives Transfer Ban From FIFA

Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí19/11/2024

Specifically, the International Football Federation (FIFA) banned Khanh Hoa Football Club from transferring players from August 2024 to mid-2025, corresponding to 2 summer transfer periods and 1 winter transfer period, according to global player transfer practices. In total, the coastal city football team is banned from transferring players for 3 periods.

The reason is that Khanh Hoa Club is slow to compensate the contract for foreign player Mamadou Guirassy (from Guinea).

Previously, the Guinean player requested Khanh Hoa Club to compensate him with 27,900 USD (more than 700 million VND), equivalent to 3 months salary. However, Khanh Hoa only transferred 19,500 USD (about 490 million VND) to Mamadou Guirassy.

Mamadou Guirassy brought the above issue to FIFA, before FIFA ruled that Khanh Hoa lost the case. The reason for the difference in salary calculation between the two sides is because the amount Khanh Hoa had to pay Mamadou Guirassy included salary, fine and 5% interest, which was something the coastal city team had not considered.

After FIFA's ruling, Khanh Hoa Football Club explained the matter to VFF and FIFA, and said it would pay the remaining amount to player Mamadou Guirassy, as soon as the Guinean player completed the visa procedure (a necessary procedure for the bank to transfer money to this player).

Khanh Hoa team just dropped from V-League to First Division in the 2023-2024 season.
