According to Vice Chairman of the Hung Yen Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh, in recent years, the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in the province have strongly implemented monitoring and criticism activities aimed at areas and issues that have a wide impact and influence on all classes of people.

Supervision activities focus on areas such as the implementation of responsibilities of People's Committees at all levels and Heads of agencies and units in deploying and implementing the Law on Grassroots Democracy; implementation of policies and laws on compensation and site clearance for programs and projects; receiving citizens, dialogue and resolving denunciations, recommendations and reflections of people towards heads of Party committees and authorities at all levels; social supervision and criticism of the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the period of 2023-2025, etc.

In response to the requirement to accelerate the progress of the Tan Phuc - Vong Phan Road Construction Investment Project (Project) and ensure the legitimate rights and interests of people in the project area, at the end of 2023, the Hung Yen Provincial Fatherland Front Committee conducted supervision of the implementation of policies and laws on compensation for site clearance and resettlement support for the Project in An Thi and Phu Cu districts. Through supervision, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee promptly discovered a number of shortcomings such as land management in some communes is not strict, there are illegal buying, selling, transferring, encroachment, and misuse of land; compensation and resettlement support policies are still inadequate, causing difficulties in the work of making compensation and support plans; propaganda work in some places is not really effective, especially for households that do not agree, and local authorities have not promptly and satisfactorily resolved.

At the end of these thematic supervisions, the Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province proposed to the Provincial People's Committee and An Thi and Phu Cu districts specific solutions to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, speed up the progress and quality of the project and ensure the legitimate rights and interests of the people.

The active participation of the Fatherland Front at all levels in site clearance has contributed to accelerating the progress of implementing key projects and works in the area. Thanks to the strong participation and high responsibility of the Fatherland Front and its member organizations, in just 2 years (2022 - 2023), the people agreed to hand over nearly 3,800 hectares of land to implement key projects and works of Hung Yen province.

Recently, in order to contribute to creating consensus among cadres and people on the implementation of administrative unit arrangement, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has proactively organized the implementation of propaganda, supervision, and social criticism tasks in localities subject to the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the period of 2023-2025.

At the localities, the Front focuses on supervising the district-level People's Committees and competent authorities in developing and approving projects and plans for organizing the arrangement of administrative units; supervising the district-level and commune-level People's Committees in implementing the procedures for renaming and naming new administrative units; supervising the organization of collecting voters' opinions on the arrangement of administrative units; supervising the management and use of public assets after the arrangement of commune-level administrative units; participating in criticizing projects and plans of Party committees and authorities at the same level on the arrangement of administrative units and the arrangement and implementation of regimes and policies for cadres and civil servants, etc.

Statistics show that the monitoring and social criticism activities of the Fatherland Front of Hung Yen province have had positive changes in both quantity and quality. In the past 5 years, the Fatherland Front at all levels has chaired nearly 2,600 monitoring sessions, and participated with the National Assembly delegation and People's Councils at all levels in conducting nearly 4,000 monitoring sessions.

Along with that, the Fatherland Front at all levels organized 540 social criticism conferences, participated in giving comments on 1,545 documents on draft laws, draft documents of sectors and levels, draft programs and plans of the Provincial People's Committee on local socio-economic development plans, thereby making recommendations to competent agencies and organizations to adjust a number of policies and measures directly related to the rights and interests of the people to suit reality.

In the new term, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh said that innovating the quality and effectiveness of social supervision and criticism activities, participating in Party building and building a strong government is one of the important breakthroughs in the activities of the Fatherland Front at all levels. To improve the substance of social supervision and criticism, the Fatherland Front at all levels continues to promote its leading role and proactiveness; strengthen coordination, consultation and unification of actions among member organizations in building and implementing programs and plans for social supervision and criticism.

Every year, based on local realities and understanding the people's situation, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations focus on selecting issues of interest to the people and public opinion to develop a monitoring and feedback plan.

Through this activity, the Front will proactively advise and propose to the Party Committee and government mechanisms and policies suitable to reality, solving problems that people expect.
