On the evening of August 3, the final round of the Miss Grand Vietnam 2024 contest was held in Phan Thiet City (Binh Thuan Province) with the participation of the top 36 finalists.

According to Dan Tri reporter, at 7:20 pm, when the program had just started, it started to rain heavily. The stage lights were turned off, MC Thien Vu and Luong Thuy Linh were supported by the production crew to hold umbrellas and find shelter from the rain.

Then the MC announced that the final night was temporarily suspended, and the Organizing Committee and contestants had to go backstage to wait.

The heavy rain forced many spectators to rush for shelter. The beauty queens, runners-up and guests, although already seated, were forced to return backstage.

The weather incident also caused chaos in the organization of the final night. After about 20 minutes of interruption, the program stabilized and continued.

However, chaos still occurred in the stands. Many spectators argued about seating positions, forcing the Organizing Committee to mobilize security personnel to assist in coordination.

Sharing at the program, Ms. Pham Kim Dung - Head of the Organizing Committee of Miss Grand Vietnam - hoped that the audience would sympathize with the interruption. Ms. Dung said that the Organizing Committee had also proactively designed the stage floor with fabric, in case of rain, it could easily become slippery.

Previously, many viewers also expressed concern for the program when dark clouds and strong winds appeared in the Phan Thiet sea area for many days.
