Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Vice Chairman of the Council on the Master Plan for training international-level human resources in 8 majors (Information Technology - Communications, Mechanics - Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Business Administration, Finance - Banking, Healthcare, Tourism, Urban Management) for the period 2020 - 2035 and Universities, shared that the project has been implemented and achieved many results.

The projects that have been accepted include: Training international-level human resources in the finance - banking sector; Training international-level human resources in the healthcare sector, which was accepted on July 2024; Training international-level human resources in the information technology - communications sector; Training international-level human resources in the artificial intelligence sector; Training international-level human resources in the urban management sector, which was accepted on August 2023.

Other projects such as Training international-level human resources in the mechanical engineering - automation industry; Training international-level human resources in the business administration industry; Training international-level human resources in the tourism industry are being implemented.

In addition to the results achieved in the first 6 months of the year, the Council of Rectors of Universities in Ho Chi Minh City also recognized that the implementation of the pilot training program encountered difficulties due to legal regulations on training orders and implementation costs. Regarding the key plan for the last months of the year, the Council agreed to pilot training for projects that have been accepted according to the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; continue to carry out scientific and technological research tasks for the remaining projects for acceptance in 2025; implement the Project "Building Ho Chi Minh City into an international center for education and training to attract students from the region and the world"; organize pilot implementation at higher education institutions to meet the requirements of training international students; effectively implement the planning of university areas according to the Project to adjust the general planning of Ho Chi Minh City construction to 2040, with a vision to 2060 after the Prime Minister's approval; support schools to implement the standards of higher education institutions according to Circular No. 1-2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training...

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Phan Van Mai, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Chairman of the Council, said that the current issue is to focus on solving the problems of universities. In the immediate future, we must find a way to quickly form the university urban area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City National University as planned.

"We must quickly remove, deploy and form university zones in Binh Chanh with 500 hectares and the Northwest area, Cu Chi district. To do this, we must start solving the problems of universities such as the University of Finance - Marketing, which is having problems at Long Truong. We will discuss with Thu Duc City to resolve them soon. Universities facing similar problems, just send information to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for them to synthesize and submit, we will give direct instructions" - Mr. Mai added.

The conference also heard 3 presentations, including the presentation "Implementation of the Project to adjust the general construction planning of Ho Chi Minh City to 2040, vision to 2060" by the Department of Planning and Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City.

Representatives of the Department of Planning and Architecture shared the orientation of the overall spatial development planning and the construction of a multi-center city structure including levels. In particular, there is an orientation for the development of university education infrastructure and vocational education facilities in Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time. Accordingly, this network needs to be concentrated in clusters in the suburban areas and prioritize development in 3 directions: east, south, northwest. This orientation aims to develop the network in a balanced manner, while training human resources to support interactions with high-tech zones and service industries that will be formed in the future. The university education and vocational training network continues to comply with the 3 clusters of educational centers according to the previous planning.

In addition to the three large training centers above, Ho Chi Minh City plans to add more training research areas and colleges in Cu Chi - Hoc Mon located near high-tech agricultural development clusters to provide and train human resources to support industrial parks, small-scale industries, high technology, etc.
