Mr. Man shared about his journey to the bird nest farming profession: “After graduating from university with a degree in construction in Ho Chi Minh City in 2007, I worked in the field of designing and installing equipment for bird nest houses in coastal districts in the North. At the end of 2009, I decided to quit my job to switch to bird nest farming.”

With a foundation of construction knowledge and accumulated experience, Mr. Man invested nearly 1 billion VND to build a bird's nest house in Cuu Loi Nam neighborhood (Tam Quan Nam ward, Hoai Nhon town, Binh Dinh province).

After just one year, his birdhouse attracted about 1,000 pairs of birds, yielding nearly 10 kg of raw bird nests for the first harvest. Currently, this facility has over 5,000 breeding bird nest pairs.

In 2014, Mr. Man continued to invest 5 billion VND to build a second birdhouse in Cuu Loi Bac neighborhood, with a scale of 4 floors, currently having over 1,000 pairs of birds.

He said that harvesting bird's nests only begins when the baby birds are mature and leave the nest, so that the nest has time to regenerate and the birds do not leave for other places. On average, each year, his two facilities provide 50 - 60 kg of raw bird's nests.

In 2016, Mr. Man established Yen Man Bird's Nest Company Limited, specializing in processing and supplying bird's nests and products from bird's nests.

To ensure the source of raw materials, his company also invested in building 6 bird houses in Gia Lai province. The company exports an average of 20 - 25 kg of finished bird nests to the market each month, with an estimated annual income of over 2 billion VND.

Yen Man Bird's Nest Company's products are currently available at nearly 50 stores inside and outside the province, including raw bird's nest, refined bird's nest, shaped plucked bird's nest and ready-to-eat bird's nest.

Yen Man refined bird's nest and de-feathered bird's nest products are certified by GLOBALCERT Certification Joint Stock Company to meet TCVN ISO 22000:2018 quality standards; 5 refined bird's nest products are recognized by Hoai Nhon Town Appraisal Council as 3-star OCOP products.

The company provides jobs for 9 official employees with an income of 8 million VND/person/month and 10 seasonal workers.
