The fire broke out at around 9:30 p.m. tonight (August 5) at a 1-storey, 1-storey house that operates a grilled chicken restaurant on Nguyen Thuong Hien Street.
At the time of the fire, there were 5 people inside the restaurant. 3 were upstairs and 2 were selling grilled chicken on the ground floor.
According to witnesses, the fire broke out from the shop's sign and spread to the air conditioner's hot block upstairs. All 5 people in the shop saw the fire, shouted and ran outside safely.
Dozens of mini fire extinguishers were brought by neighbors and vendors on Nguyen Thuong Hien food street to put out the fire but were unsuccessful.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Police and Rescue Police of District 3 arrived and promptly controlled and prevented the fire from spreading to the area.
Because the fire occurred on a food street, the area was chaotic, business activities were disrupted, and traffic was congested.
At nearly 11 p.m., District 3 Police were still working with the homeowner, at the same time, inventorying damaged property and clarifying the cause of the fire.
Nguyen Thuong Hien Food Street is 368m long (from Dien Bien Phu to Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, District 3), starting to operate from the end of 2022, from 7pm to 11pm every day.
On the route there are 92 food and beverage establishments and 51 stores selling clothes, shoes, and beauty products.
