On the afternoon of August 13, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online meeting with the two provinces of Ha Tinh and Nghe An on the implementation of the 500kV line project, circuit 3, from Quang Trach to Pho Noi.

Increase transmission capacity to the North by 2,400 MW

According to the Prime Minister, the Government is very concerned about ensuring adequate electricity supply. Therefore, the 500kV 3-circuit line project from Quang Trach to Pho Noi with a double circuit and a transmission capacity of about 2,400 MW will help increase the power supply for the North in 2025 and the following years.

According to the report of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), the handover of the entire column foundation site (1,177/1,177 locations) and route corridor (513/513 anchorage spaces) has been completed.

Materials and equipment have been completed and handed over to contractors, 1,159/1,177 poles have been installed (98.5%); 321/513 anchorage spans have been pulled (62.5%).

EVN is also coordinating with Ha Tinh and Nghe An provinces to carry out procedures for changing forest use purposes according to Decree 91 that has just been issued and instructions from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The group aims to complete and energize two projects, Nam Dinh I - Pho Noi and Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa, before August 19 and the Quang Trach - Quynh Luu project before August 31. EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An added that the group strives to energize all projects before August 25.

To achieve the target, EVN has mobilized about 1,200 - 1,500 additional personnel, equivalent to 60 pole erection and wire pulling teams; requiring contractors to calculate and reasonably rotate specialized and healthy personnel to ensure continuous construction pace at the construction site.

Assign specific tasks to ministries and branches, focus on solving problems

With the workload not much but difficult, the head of the Government requested more determination, more efforts, and focused work in the final sprint phase. The goal is to complete the project before September 2, and organize the inauguration on the occasion of National Day this year.

Therefore, the project continues the spirit of "only work, no backtracking". Working continuously 24/7 whenever possible, "3 shifts, 4 shifts", "eating quickly, sleeping urgently", coordinating closely and effectively to "once in action, victory is assured".

On that basis, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to continue to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to regularly inspect and supervise, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, and conduct acceptance work.

The Ministry of National Defense directed Military Region 3 and Military Region 4 to coordinate with EVN to continue reviewing and mobilizing technical forces, machinery, equipment, and human resources to support the construction. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development continued to guide the adjustment of forest use purposes.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment provides environmental guidance, ensuring restoration upon project completion. The Ministry of Home Affairs coordinates with ministries, branches and localities to propose appropriate and worthy rewards at all levels that have actively participated in project implementation.

Localities continue to provide human resources, the People's Committees of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces closely coordinate with EVN, agencies and forces to complete the remaining work. Local police do a good job of ensuring security and order at the construction site.

For localities that have completed the work, restore the environment; continue to care for and stabilize the lives and livelihoods of affected people, the new residence must be better than or equal to the old residence.
