On August 13, Thu Duc City Police (HCMC) is still coordinating with relevant units to examine the scene and investigate the cause of the fire that occurred at a 5-storey house on Street 64, Thao Dien Ward.

Earlier, at around 8am, a fire broke out on the first floor of the house. At the time of the fire, there were 15 people (9 foreigners) living in the rented rooms inside the house.

They shouted to use fire extinguishers to put out the fire but failed. The house was on fire on the first floor, black smoke billowed out, forcing those inside to escape by the stairs. Some people on the upper floors climbed to the roof to call for help.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Thu Duc City Police mobilized many officers, soldiers and specialized vehicles to quickly arrive at the scene to put out the fire and rescue people.

Police used a ladder truck to safely bring people trapped inside the house out and control the fire in time.

The fire did not cause any human casualties, however many properties inside the house were burned down.

Thao Dien area, Thu Duc city is adjacent to Saigon river, about 5-6km from the center of Ho Chi Minh city. This area has many high-rise buildings, apartments, villas, attracting many foreigners to live and work.
